That's awesome, I noticed on the Hawaii GOP website that they are going to the 7th of Feb. But the last caucus seems to be on the 5th of Feb. Any reason for the 2 day void? Anyway, I am happy to hear that Hawaii is coming out good so far. I am curious to hear the official results.

We have to wait until May, for the state convention for any results. That's when all the local delegates go to the state convention, and vote for national delegates to the national convention. So even if we get 100 or 200 or 500 local delegates, we don't know how many will show up to the local GOP convention. Also, we won't know how many other people will show up, and we won't know what the final vote will be until May.

So yeah, I don't know what to say about Hawaii, except that we won't know the final result until May.

How do state conventions work? Delegates vote for other delegates? Cuz if that is the case, then if we have the majority we should get ALL of them if the thing is pre-organized by RP delegates. Say there are 18 delegates for Hawaii, then they should pick 18 people, and everyone vote for them (same people). In a majority contest ALL of the delegates should be ours. But I really don't know how the state conventions works. Any help?

But If my guess is right and if we have a majority then the only way we will not get all of the delegates is if say there are 50 RP delegates, and then you have to vote for 18, and people randomly vote for 18, in which case some may get more votes than the others. So it would be best to pre-pick 18 people and everyone just vote for them, this way votes won't be wasted!

The local delegates vote for national delegates. But there's possibly 1,000 local delegates, and there's no way we are going to get 500 Ron Paul supporting delegates. Maybe 200, and we don't know how many are actually going to show up come convention time. Same for all the delegates who aren't supporting Ron Paul.

If there's like 300 delegates who we don't know, if famous Republicans in the state run, like the governor, or some famous state senator run, then most of the 300 will vote for that person. But if the remainder of people who run are not famous, they might split the vote, and 200 will be good enough to get at least some people in the top 17. But who knows what will happen. Maybe they'll have their own slate of people.

So yeah, there's just too many variables to make any good predictions before the actual convention in May.

Guys, they are not posting due to the fact that they are not done. They still have to go to State May16-18th. They ARE working a plan & the plan IS working.

HI. GOP gets 1047 seats at State. That gets dwindled to 17 + 3 RNC's delegates.

I have several connections there, so trust me, when they can talk, they will!! Meanwhile, just have faith in them.

BTW: They are working very hard plus have the challenge of getting all their delegates to Oahu in May. This won't be cheap either!

My concern is that if they have their convention in Honolulu how do we get all the delegates from the other islands to the convention? Let's charter a plane to go out to the islands and pick them up. They certainly can't get there on surfboards and outrigger canoes!

Most states also charge entry fees to delegates. I hear Hawaii is one of the most expensive.
Anyone out there creative want to help set up a chip-in to help pay for plane fares for these guys? Let's

Yes, I agree a chip in may be in order, I will e-mail Dan soon if I don't see any ation on this front. Luckily, flights flights were still pretty cheap when I left.

That said, I do get updates from there and can share this for entertainment value

YO RON PAUL POSSE! I am a dj playing at Indigo (Nuuanu/Hotel in Chinatown) tonight, 9pm - 12:30pm playing 80's dance jams...I just got word that Chelsea Clinton & their campaign is there (many, many ppl) and will be there all night. A lot of Democraps their tonight, if anyone has slimjims, or t-shirts, or anything that I can have at my disposal, pls swing by & drop it some off with the dj (thats me) or come out and make a statement & have fun too. I'm not certain if its the right thing to do by being visible to them necessarily...but I thought I would let everyone know and let you make the decision.
