I am not supporting democrats, they still want to intervene what we do with our money, and they are anti-Liberty.
But republicans believe that the government should not intervene with what you do with your wallet, but still want the government to intervene in our bedrooms, like banning prostitution, abortions, gay marriage, in Mississippi premarital sex was outlawed a year ago
And let's not forget the drug war, imperialism, spying on civilians without a warrant, curbing civil liberties. That doesn't sound small government to me it is advocating for big government, not even individualistic but more collectivist.
Democrats aren't any better many of them are neocons, for the drug war, and violate the 4th amendment by spying on US citizens.

Are you asking how individuals who favor small government are herded into the Republican camp? Well, it's indoctrination--we have the notion drilled into our heads from an early age that to opt out of the two party system is to hand victory to the most reprehensible of the two parties--combined with plain foolishness.

In other words, the same way people who don't favor official government busybodies in their private business are herded into the Democratic camp. The exact same way.

No, they only pretend to, sometimes.

In practice, there is no meaningful difference between Dems and GOPers (with very few exceptions, like Rand or Massie).

Odd, as I see so may posts here at RPF these days decrying the so-called left as being the enemy of liberty, yet here are so many posts stating that there is no difference between the two parties. Hmph!? It's like this thread is from 2010 or something.

It's a cryin' ass shame what's become of this forum.

A cryin' ass shame.

Confusing, angry times.

I'm being pushed into a corner I don't like, but am not left with any choices.

The answer to the OP question is: Some are some are not, but NO Democrats are, unless we can get a 3rd party that is viable our only hope is to reform the Republicans because the Democrats are beyond all hope.

Well said, fortunate or unfortunate as it may be, going via Republican is the path of least resistance.

On a federal level, the GOP is s'posed to advocate for constitutional constructivism, ie the government should be restrained and non-federal issues should be handled by the States. Doesn't work out that way, as the vast majority of Americans today consider DC to be omnipotent.
