Houston TX straw poll!!! You can text in your vote as long as U have a TX area code!!!

It has been posted about already. That's how I found out about it and text my vote in.

bump - this info needs to be in grassroots, so people will see it, I didn't know it was posted before because it was posted under a obscure section of the forum

Are the instructions complete, or is something left out/assumed?

I typed in the phone number 22333 and it actually entered as 223-33. I then typed in a code and a message popped up that read "Only registered participants may respond to this poll."

Well, the instructions did not say anything about registering.

So, even though it flashed this message, was my vote entered? Or is there a registration to go through? Where? How? And is that phone number correct?

I voted and no reply.

I'm bumping this back to the top with a question on how to "enter a text vote". The instructions at the link in post #1 read as follows:

To enter a text vote you must do the following;
Enter "22333" as the phone number you will text your vote to;
Type the code for your choice in the text message line and then send your vote.

But "22333" is not a VALID telephone number. A telephone number consists of a 3 digit area code + a 7 digit telephone number.

I'm obviously not up with the times and doing something improperly, which is leading to the results in my post at #7. Is anyone able to straighten me out.

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is because it seems you are doing everything correctly.

Here is what I did:

1. Go to you're text message menu in your phone
2. Where the phone number goes put 22333 (on my phone, like yours, this will look like 223-33) (don't put the dash in. If the phone wants to do it, that's ok)
3. Text "P0005" to this number. Just put in >> P0005 << and send it just like you would a text
4. Success

I'm not sure why it said you need to be registered. Do you have a Texas area code? When I sent my vote I did not get a reply (I don't think you should either). After I sent my vote I went ahead and sent another text to that number with the same "P0005" and received this in return "You can't vote any more on this poll"

Hope this helps.

I just moved from TX to a different state but have a TX number still. I texted my vote for RP. I don't feel guilty doing so because I'm a native Texan. Hope he wins.

If someone wanted to take the time they could probably text over and over using different Texas numbers through google phone. It would be funny to do it for Buddy Roemer :p

We'll see. I just repeated for Prez and got the same message as before and did not get the "can't vote" message. But then I just continued and voted for Senate and got the same message again; so I just continued and voted for Rep. This time I did not get the message, but got a pop up tag that suggested all three of my votes had been accepted. When I tried to post again for Rep, then I got the "can't vote" message.

So it acted a bit strange, but I think it did take my votes.

I spoke with someone this morning who attended yesterday in person and was told that attendance was bad.
