Former House stenographer describes outburst: 'I did not lose my mind'

The former House stenographer who interrupted the floor proceedings during the government shutdown last year said in a video posted Saturday she only vaguely remembers her words that night and similar things had happened three times in the past.

Dianne Reidy, who no longer works in the House, and her husband appeared to post a 38-minute video on YouTube explaining the incident, which she described as "basically the fourth time I've had an experience like this where the lord has put on my heart to speak."

Reidy was ushered out of the House chamber last October while shouting "praise be to God” and a “House divided cannot stand,” while making reference to Free Masons.

"I remember just getting up to the podium," Reidy says in the video. "After saying 'God will not be mocked,' I don't have a memory of anything else that was said that evening until I was escorted off the floor."

She maintained that she did not have a breakdown.

"I got up and I do remember walking to the dais and speaking, and standing at the podium where the president speaks as God would have it, but I did not lose my mind. I did not have a breakdown."

She said she knew well in advance “God was going to speak through me” during an important vote.

“And I knew that it was going to be during the vote, raising the debt ceiling level and ending the government shutdown, but I had to keep this to myself,” she said. “I mean who could I share that with without anybody thinking I've had some kind of breakdown.”

In the video, she described three other similar incidents— at a friend’s funeral, while reuniting with her dad and while speaking to a homeless man in Washington, D.C.

That wasn't God that was her handler--Congressman Bill Young (R-FL). She was seen speaking to congressman Bill Young prior to her trance-like move to go up to the podium and speak. Congressman Bill Young after she just abruptly walked away from him, took out his phone and started text message. It is also interesting to note that Congressman Bill Young died on October 18, 2013, the next day after this incident.


If we remember the news reports, it was obvious they took what she was saying while she stood in front of the elevator and made it look like that is what she said at the podium.

24 minutes in, she talked about how scared she was that she'd end up in prison.

She said she was given the "royal treatment," and taken to GW Hospital and not the one they'd normally take someone who has an outburst in the gallery. She said she was grilled (I assume by the cops) on the way, and the hospital released her some hours later with a dx of "a religious experience/anxiety." She saw her own doctor the next day and, by that time, the report had been changed-the dx was changed to "psychosis."

She said she had been waking up in the middle of the night for weeks before, compelled to read the Bible for a few hours. Then she just started listening to a recording of the Bible and would fall asleep to it while it played.

There is not one independent recording of what she said at the podium.

There are many with the conversation at the elevator imposed over the footage of her at the podium.

Those present heard it.. NONE of them are talking.

NO One outside of those in earshot knows exactly what was said.

I am curious as to what the conversation was with the gentleman that came over to you and spoke with you before you went up to the podium.
There is clear video showing him coming over to you speaking with you, and you nodding your head and then you head up to the podium.
