He is hosting a meeting on nuclear weapons- he is not becoming head of the UN Security Council.
 
The UN security council doesn't do anything. Everybody chill the fuck out.

Section 9 of the Constitution says:

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State

Can't even hide under the Comerce Clause on this one......

Ordinarily, this job would go to the US Ambassador to the UN, but Obama's ego apparently knows no bounds thus he will take it on personally. As if we don't have enough going on at home to keep him busy. :rolleyes:

Hmmm. Interesting. Not sure if this position counts as an office, its more of just a designated leader to guide the discussion.

The story has not been covered by the MSM. Another story I guess that we should not know about because...?
No vote, no discussion, no debate about this. Obama magically became head of the Security Council for one the most hated organizations by Americans (My opinion only) I believe the perceived American hatred of the U.N. is the reason that the MSM has not said much about this story.

Her remarks were the latest by the Obama administration to emphasise a shift from the strategy of the previous Bush administration, sometimes criticised by its UN partners for seeking to use the world body principally to endorse its own unilateral policies. The US currently holds the month-long rotating presidency of the Security Council.
Mr Obama will join other heads of government in New York during the week of the nuclear summit for the opening of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly. The annual meeting of world leaders is this year raising expectations on a number of fronts.

This is very, very scarey... Could anyone have ever imagined an African representing the USA in the United Nations? This country doesn't have long... take a deep breath.. stock up, and enjoy the little bit of freedom you have now; before it is gone.
 
He's not African but Africa does have an elected member (not perminant) on the Security Council. Presently that position is held by Burkina Faso- next year it will be Uganda. the United States heads the Security Council for September and probably China next month (unless it is Burkini Faso- it goes alphabetically). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Security_Council
