Hold my nose and vote for Barr, or vote on principle?

I'm trying to decide if I can vote for the scumbag Barr or if I should vote for Chuck Baldwin, or another 3rd party candidate.

To me the decision comes down to this. I would like to vote Libertarian, to help the party garner support for upcoming elections. However, I do NOT want to encourage the LP to pick shitty un-principled hacks like Bob Barr. He has waffled and vascilated on virtually every issue I have seen him interviewed on - from our pre-emptive aggressive foreign policy to our bailout of Fannie and Freddie.

That said, as an atheist and libertarian minded person, I hold some reluctance in pulling the trigger for Baldwin and the Constitution Party.

Argh, decisions descisions!

the C4L's stated goal is to take back the GOP. Outside of winning the GOP outright, you try to force their hand into moving in your direction by stealing votes away.

When Paul urged Barr to run as a Libertarian, I assume it was because he knows Barr is the most dangerous to the GOP in stealing votes.

Which is why this press conference with Nader and Green was so puzzling.

isnt that the point of ron paul's message? vote on principle? he spent almost two years trying to convince the country of this.

Hold your nose and vote for Nader! He's not a scumbag (though there's obviously something wrong with him) and is on the ballot in the most states and I guarantee will be getting a significantly higher % over barr

I'm considering it, but then again, the last time I listened to your advice on who to vote for. . .well you know. :p

It depends on where you vote. Depending on ballot status your choice might be made easier. http://www.ballot-access.org

Is protectionism is one of your principles? If so, I advise you to vote for Chuck Baldwin. Restricting free trade among individuals is what they're all about over at the CP. Why would Jerome Corsi, a well known protectionist, support a party and candidate that does not support high tarifs, trade quotas, and subsidizing domestic industry? hm. So lincoln-esque

A Nader votes sends a message to the politicians that you want government to get bigger. They will see Nader support as an indication that we want socialism.

I disagree with you on protectionism (I'm a free trader) but I agree with you here. A vote for nader is sending a message alright.... we want BIGGER government
