Hillary's lawyers are kicking out poll workers in NH

I'll update this information as I get it:

I'm working here in Ron Paul HQ in Concord and we've been getting reports that Hillary's lawyers are kicking poll workers out of various precincts across the state since this morning. They're kicking out Obama and Ron Paul poll workers, and possibly others.

Poll workers are there to confirm that known supporters are attending. It's part of the GOTV process, and Hillary is using strong-arm tactics to limit our (and Obama's) ability to conduct this! Even if the poll workers are allowed back in, the damage is done because we lose track of who has entered the polls.

Fergus Collins (the NH GOP chairman) is writing a letter to make sure poll captains know they have a RIGHT to be there. If some lawyer tells you to leave the poll, stand your ground!

A Campaign worker here in Concord also want the media to know about this. Hopefully I'll get more details soon.

FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO WWW.BLACKBOXVOTING.ORG!
They are keeping track of all vote fraud if legal action is necessary!!

You can't campaign inside the polls. YOU MUST be outside the boundary, or they will toss you. I know, I've done it before. I tossed about thirty Bush supporters in 04 for talking loudly in the hallway outside the polling place.

We know this. We all received explicit instructions who to talk to, who not to talk to, how to behave, how to dress, etc.

Yes.

And I bet the people getting kicked out are people who are not following those instructions.

All the more important to demand a hand count if this is going on there. Pay for it, as they have the money.

I hope we stand our ground and get this recorded if it is happening.

I am reading this as kicking out poll workers and not campaigning inside the poll.

If this is happening we MUST have a hand count!

how do you "toss" someone out?

Report them to a polling agent.

Typically, the way it works is you'll go to the polling agent, inform them that you have noticed electioneering inside the line, and you are requesting they be removed.

Then, they're asked to leave, or take signs down, or remove shirts if they're wearing pro-party shirts, or to remain silent.

why not just report opposing voters then? :p

Chill

Let's get a confirmation on this before anyone goes Postal ;)

Seriously, is this really happening? If so, get some bloody evidence . . . YouTube it!

Get cameras on this!!! pictures , video and/or audio...

spread it around the internet. The media will love it!

You need to not only post a message; but call up other voting precincts and warn them; and then more importantly CALL UP YOUR LOCAL NEWS!!!! then get back to us...you're preaching to the choir...

if this is true...

Stop! We don't have all the facts here.

If poll watchers are watching the polls, then they have an absolute right to be there. However, if they are electioneering inside the polls, then they should be removed. Doesn't matter who they are electioneering for.

We don't have the facts yet, and until we do, we shouldn't be screaming foul.

Because the first question they are asked by the poll worker is "have you voted yet?"

It's pretty obvious when someone has voted versus someone electioneering inside the line.

Actually, we're just supposed to be silent observers. We've all been coached.

Anyway, you don't send an army of lawyers to polling places without prior intent. They aren't there to keep people honest.

Yeah, you do.

It's been pretty much the way things have worked for years.

You send people in inside the line to catch out people electioneering for your opponents. Always been done.

You also send people inside the line to electioneer for your candidate. Also always been done.

I know for many people this is their first election, and they've not seen this type of response, but, it's not anything new. You CANNOT talk politics. YOU CANNOT ask who they voted for. You must be still and be silent and that is it.

Guys, there's a reason that you can't campaign in polling locations. Free speech, remember, is limited by property rights. You also don't have a right to walk into the Oval Office to campaign against Bush.

You need to give people the right to vote in peace - campaigning must take place OUTSIDE the polling place.

Of course, poll watchers are allowed inside. As long as they are not actively trying to convince other people in the polling place to vote for or against a certain candidate.

Aren't candidate-sponsored poll workers there to make sure confirmed supporters show up and vote for the candidate they are working for?

How do they do this if they can't talk to people about who they are and who they are voting for?

No.

Candidate sponsored poll workers are supposed to remain silent and observe the proceedings to make sure nobody is turned away / unable to vote / given a hard time / influenced by anyone working the site.

No, they can't do that. An important part of voting is the right to privacy - nobody has a right to demand who you voted for. Poll workers are there to check the lists of registered voters to see who has showed up. They have lists of people they expect to vote for their candidate. If those people don't show up, the poll workers will report in and get those people called.
