I agree with the cop on this one. That thing was way too close to the road. Should it somehow have deflated on its own, it would have caused quite an accident.

They need to get permission from a private landowner near a major roadway. And they need bigger and better banners.
 
I don't like it. We can't afford to be disruptive to people's commutes. This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to stay away from.
 
The video showed what looked like two police vehicles on the shoulder.

I would bet my life on it that the traffic didn't slow down until the police came to tell the guy to lose the balloon.
 
wow, really? So it's the balloons fault? I guess when people crash and die in a fiery blaze on the freeway, it's their fault for making everyone slowdown to get a good view?
 
Theirs 4 miles of traffic damn near every morning right their. Everyone in greenville knows it.

Yes, the highway beautification act the left a few large grandfathered advertisers in charge of the market has the same effect.
Of course the balloon was unregulated, did not pay a fee to the paymasters and infringed on Clearchannels or Lamars monopoly.

Ha, ha, ha! Good to know. So they are spinning it solely for the benefit of any national audience, since everyone local will know they're lying. Sounds pretty typical of the slimedia.

I had wondered what was happening with the Ron Paul Balloon. Excellent to see that it's going strong and getting attention. Keep that baby in the air!!
