High Tide Airtime - Planning Schedule Now

I forgot to ask, are these the rates for political ads? You might be able to get a discount.

Yes these are the political rates, and there is no discount available to us. If the official campaign had bought spots, they get pretty much a 40% discount since it's the candidate buying the time. But since we're a PAC, no discount. :(

If there are no objections then I'm gonna axe MTV, which frees up $360. Where to stick that?

Edit - the ChipIn is still open for anyone to contribute to the Philly ad buy! I'm gonna finalize everything over the weekend & Monday. So there still time to get more spots.

Maybe there's a show or event that's watched by a lot of people that we might want it to play during?

But I'd say Fox News... I mean who cares if we all hate it... Republicans still watch it.

damn.

God forbid the campaign actually use their leverage to help a Grassroots project that benefits Ron Paul and the Freedom Movement.

** sorry, just frustrating **

I'm slightly disappointed to not see it air at least a few times on the history channel.

We seem to be targeting the youth vote, and while that is a good thing for the future....it doesn't do us much good right now. People who watch the history channel tend to be slightly older and more patriotic.....which is perfect.

I do watch the history channel too. But by the way... while a lot of older people watch the History Channel, a lot of teenage males watch it as well (which I wonder if even THEY know about). Well maybe that's killing two birds with one stone?

Right now we've raised about $6,500 to spend airing The High Tide in Philly. Donate here to bump up our total. Here are the rates & the coverage map (1.8 million homes).

Here's what I put together today. (Excel file here) These would be spread out over April 16-22nd. (22nd is the PA election)

The prime time 7p-12am slot is the most expensive. Input/comments/suggestions appreciated.

Great work. Looks good to me. And for what its worth, I would like to object to removing MTV. I think that's a good audience for us and for this ad in particular.

Either way, great work.

We're going on History Channel, check the schedule. If we axe MTV we can do a couple more on History.

I've been debating Faux. Damn I hate those SOBs, but if we could scrounge up another $1K we could run one 4-7pm. Prime time 7pm-12am would cost $2200 (ouch!).

Now at $7,000! Very nice, keep up the good work! It's AWESOME to see that this amazing ad will see air time.

May I suggest Comedy Central at 10:30 PM on THursday? There's an animated program titled "Lil' Bush" that plays well on the administration's stupidity. The "High Tide" animation runs in the same vein of anti-Bush "strategery" and is also an animation but is much more sophisticated. (Subliminal message?)

Airing the spot then may resonate with disenfranshised Reps and Dems who hate Bush. BTW, the show cracks me up.

This is all assuming the price is affordable.

That means most Republicans don't watch it. I don't think there should be too many ads on Comedy Central

Is PA an open or closed primary? Isn't the point to tell ALL people that they have an honest choice and don't have to choose the lesser of two evils? I appreciate your point though.
