killing lots of grunts means nothing. hathcock and the snipers he trained killed about 1000 commies in Nam, so what? We still lost. To get to the big boys, you have to be able to disassemble your silenced auto rifle, get into position, and hit the target's bodyguards after you hit your main target, as he moves between vehicle and buildings, etc. That is 200 yd shooting, at most. Often, it will be 50 yds and less, so subsonic ammo suffices, with head shots obviating the concealed armor issue.

This forum is for learning about gun rights and issues pertaining to them as they are under constant real threat by government officals, burecrats, and even agencies participating in "entrapment" schemes. This type of discussion doesn't belong here AT ALL as it may paint a view that there are members here that are not commited to our peaceful political movement to regain our rights and promote a Constitutional form of government. "High-value" targets as you mentioned has nothing to do with self defense. I recommend you take this discussion way the hell of the internet.

snipe are actually a small migritory bird often found around small wetlands , I have bagged a few for dinner with #8 shot before , they are not hard to hit , but if you do miss , they sort of fly in a circle and will come back around the pothole and you get another chance ;)

and the Feds will be kicking down your door right about....now

I hope you enjoy getting raped in prison

OP was pretty odd and definitely out of place on this forum, imo. Smells like beginnings of an entrapment setup.

I have personally seen a snipe before, while on a bird count. It was an unusual find, because it was near Christmas time in Ohio and normally the bird would be elsewhere then. Find was verified by several experienced birders.

See them everywhere out of season. The moment they are in season they are nowhere to be seen.

I get tickled at the folks who slather themselves in doe-pee to try and attract bucks...

I've had much better luck smoking a cigarette and running a chainsaw.....Deer are curious.

You don't have ANY rights, gun or otherwise, unless you are willing to defend those rights with force if peaceful opposition and resistance should fail. Barring that willingness, you'll simply do as you're told or be destroyed with impunity. There is NO limit to what those who are willing to use aggressive force can do to those who are unwilling to use defensive force.

The Founders understood this. Ron Paul understands it (and has stated it explicitly). Why do you think the Founders put the Second Amendment into the Constitution? It wasn't to ensure that people had the right to hunt or engage in recreational shooting.

If the point of this forum is not to discuss armed resistance to potential future tyranny, then this forum has nothing to do with the Second Amendment, and those words should be removed from the forum description.

Moreover, if American gun owners have the attitude that they will never take up arms under any circumstances, then who really cares if we lose our gun "rights"? What do we need them for? No one needs anything more than a single-shot weapon for hunting or target shooting. Might as well turn in everything else right now. Leave the combat-worthy weapons to the only people who will use them: the military and police.

"High-value" targets as you mentioned has nothing to do with self defense.
That depends on the circumstances. Under true conditions of naked tyranny, the best defense for our rights will be a good offense.

Although I saw little value in his post, he said nothing remotely capable of getting him put in prison under current laws. (Granted, the government can and does break the law as it sees fit.)

What I find disturbing is your apparently flippant attitude toward the idea of someone being thrown in prison for speech, not to mention raped. Would you be cheering for the feds if they busted that guy? Whose side are you on in the struggle for freedom?

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Snipe are actually a small migratory bird that often frequent small wetlands , I have bagged a few for dinner before with some #8 shot . They are not hard to hit , but are good for beginners , if you miss , they will make a circle around the pothole and come back to you for another shot . I am sure this is just agoodploy they use to throw off natural predators such as foxes , etc.
