The 19th-century hymn "Lift Every Voice and Sing" dubbed the "Black National Anthem," was performed by Sheryl Lee Ralph before the American National Anthem and "America the Beautiful" as part of the opening ceremonies of the game.

Former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake remained seated while the “Black National Anthem” was performed during Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.

The 19th-century hymn "Lift Every Voice and Sing" dubbed the "black national anthem," was performed by actress and singer Sheryl Lee Ralph before the American National Anthem and "America the Beautiful" as part of the opening ceremonies of the game.


A picture of Lake seated outside a luxury box at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, reportedly taken during the performance of the song, circulated on social media Sunday evening.

Lake did stand for the American National Anthem, performed by country artist Chris Stapleton, and "America the Beautiful" performed by R&B artist Babyface. Lake wrote on Twitter, "I’m just here for THE National Anthem."

The NFL began performing "Lift Every Voice and Sing" during the 2020 football season following the death of George Floyd.

While some believe that the label "black national anthem" is racist, others argue that the message of the lyrics and the history of the song is not divisive.

The Kansas City Chiefs went on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Sunday night’s contest 38-35.

See I disagree with that very notion--people do change, all the time, once they are introduced to the truth. The fact she left a job that paid well, as a news anchor, to make a difference, that indicates to me, that she got a gut-full of the corruption, on the inside, to try and make a difference.

That's not an honest statement. She is antiwar first, and left the Bush republicans to join Obama's antiwar message. While believing Obama was very naive, she did see the error in her ways when he started drone striking kids. Other than falling for Obama's drivel, she isn't much different from most people here. Her faith was just incorrectly directed at the time.

It was for her campaign, not her personal bank account. She is competing against people who get money from big corporations, NGOs and bankers.

Who do you put in the top 3 or 5 for best chance of significantly increasing liberty in this country?

By the way, that is the purpose of the introduction... who are you, how can people help you out, etc.. If you put it in the middle of the interview it doesn't work so well. But glad you turned it off after that, people who constantly attack other people who are trying to help generally aren't very helpful with the broader movement.

I'll take all the anti-war Republicans I can get. She also has a significant advantage over Rand and Massie, both of whom I would certainly prefer, but do not really have the optics for big national politics.
