Ron Paul commented on Huckabee's Christmas ad by quoting Lewis, "fascism wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross" - We've all heard this by now...

Dr. Paul is going to get absolutely blasted about this one and will have to issue an apology by the end of the day.

Personally, I believe that Hickerbee is a fire-breathing, war-loving, Neo-Con and would usher in more fascism - However, it's not going to float. You can't off-cuff blast a guy for showing a cross, saying Merry Christmas and Jesus is the "reason for the season" -

This is going to get ugly. Paul will get unduly smeared, misquoted and taken out of context. He'll end up apologizing to Mike.

Its Mike that has the glass jaw.

Trust that if a controversy does emerge, people will do what they always do, and form their own damned opinions.

Trust that Dr Paul will be able to defend his statement.

Only huckabee will criticize him. Other campaigns aren't going to run interference for Huckabee.

Well, it's going to have a lot of people thinking about that quote. I don't know if Huckabee wants to go there, because then it will get people to get the wheels turning on whether Huckabee is using religion for political purposes.

Also, there is already a disclaimer, if you watch the rest of the spot...

'Now, I dunno if that is a fair assessment, but, campaigning as if your are the only christian running.'

Ladies and Gentlemen...THAT is the punch line.

don't respond to this troll. No apology is necessary because ron speaks the truth

ET TU BRUTEI?

I watched the interview a second time after reading this and I don't agree.

Dr. Paul doesn't apologize when he does nothing wrong (like taking money from Storm Front), and he did nothing wrong here.

He didn't call Huckabee a fascist but he did question any candidate that positions themselves as Gods choice.

I hope the media does pick up on this more.

how often does the american public even hear the word facism they will definitely think about what he is saying and if not

f@#$ it this will just get RP more airtime to explain things and we all know what happens to people when they look the good doctor directly into his eyes and hear him speak...

they turn into Patriots

I hope it gets more MSM play also. It certainly will not pull current supporters away from Dr. Paul. If Huck wants to show religious symbols in his messages then he can go ahead and do that but trying to be sneaky and sublime is another matter. Even our government outlawed sublime messages in tv ads and movies and did so with good reason.

it just came up on the who radio interview and it's just opening the interview to more explaination

first off. troll alert.

second. what Ron Paul said is the truth. he need not apologize and he won't.

third. there is an element in the grass roots that thinks Ron Paul should water down his message to please and appease the masses. he is not going to play that game of compromise. if you want compromise, go to another campaign. if you want a man with cajones to tell the people what needs to be heard, stick with Dr. Paul.

He won't apologize, as there is no reason to do so.
And if gets him more media time to explain himself, it will turn out good.

Like all these things, i have a feeling people who hated Ron in the first place will dump on him, but fence sitters may research him more and largely agree. I mean, how can you NOT love Paul :)
