Help Please! I need examples of Free Societies in literature or history.

Look much deeper into pre-conquest Irish systems. Writing it off because there were kings in that system is like purposely ignoring what goes on in private business because they have presidents.

Also don't get caught up on "medieval" Ireland. Ireland's stateless legal system (the part that is most important) goes back to prehistory.

If you can get funding, the one place that needs active research done asap is Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong. KWC was only demolished in 1994 so there are tons of people out there who can still ay what it was like and how stuff worked ... but the Chinese are probably more actively disinterested in the world finding out how it worked without a state than our gaggle of statist trolls on this forum are... and that's saying quite a lot. So there isnt going to be an indiginous effort to document it.

awesome sentence dudette!

Republic of Ragusa (city state). Today Dubrovnik.

Their flag was white cloth with word: LI BER TAS (

Motto: "Non bene pro toto libertas venditur auro" (Liberty is not well sold for all of the gold.)

They elected new Rector evewry month, any slave that would step on their ships had to be treated as free person.... While rest of Croatia was hungry, in mud, in poverty Ragusa had more embassies than today's country of Croatia has. They invented quarantine...

My suggestion is that you contrast total tyranny vs free-er states

US vs North Korea
Canada vs Cuba
Ragusa vs rest of Croatia (same period)

On one side list freest states and on the other most tyrannical ones. You will see that freedom in always more prosperous than statism.

I have nothing to add to this. I just wanted to quote it in case you decide to think about it later and delete it.

The truth is, before the American constitution, they hadn't been a society that guaranteed the level of freedom the constitution guaranteed.

If the Constitution guaranteed freedom, then we would be free. I think some of the examples mentioned probably were more free than what the Constitution legislates, even if the Constitution could be followed.
