Rand needs about $40k more to have a total of $1 million raised this quarter.

It is possible, but doubtful, that Rand's opponent has raised $1 million this quarter.

If Rand can announce that he raised $1 million IN A SINGLE QUARTER, especially if he out raised his opponent, the news will be HUGE!

Please help make this happen!!!

This is actually a strong play. With 7 days left that's a feasible goal, provided we dedicate the effort to attain it.

Matt, where do you come up with 40,000 dollars?

Rand Paul raised $111,025 according to his last FEC filing on June 30th.

That would mean he needs to be at $1,111,025 by the end of September 30th.

Rand Paul's official website ticker currently reads: $1,043,076

$1,111,025 - $1,043,076 = $67,949

no thanks, we have other candidates with better chances to fund. kokesh, rj, towne, mcartor

Matt has a feeling the local boys are going to knock out a big chuck of that this weekend. ;)

Discussions with Rand's treasurer ;) :p

Yes, Rand has about $70k to go before he hits $1m for the quarter. An estimated $30k of that coming will potentially be from on-the-ground fundraisers prior to Sep 30th. That leaves about $40k left to go!!!

Does it really matter?

How much out of state funding is his opponent getting?

How about that Bailout Fundraiser this week, how much did he get off of that?

really?

Really? Was it somehow honorable for him to declare he won't donate to someone because other people have a better shot? I mean, troll much? It was uncalled for.

I appreciate people keeping the dream alive, and I really love all these grassroots campaigns across America, but being confrontationally divisive will not win anyone.

I looked up these people, this McArtor fellow is going up against an incumbent Democratic. McArtor didn't seem to have raised anything in the last quarter, whereas the incumbent raised $600,000. Not only that, the next highest contender is a Republican with $200,000.

What exactly suggests McArtor has a better shot than Rand Paul?

Next there's Towne, running against an incumbent Republican, who was born in the district and is currently in his third term.

Towne raised nothing in the last quarter, and Dent, the incumbent, has raised over $300,000.

So again, what shows this man to be in a better position to win, vs. Rand Paul?

I hope they all win. But I don't think making comments just to reject candidates is beneficial.

My congressional district has a Ron Paul supporter running, who has a quarter million raised, and a good shot at an unpopular incumbent, but I'm not coming on here denouncing Rand Paul in his stead.

I agree. No negativity should be shown towards any liberty minded candidates. We want them all to win.

Even though I am unbiased I do think Rand's campaign is the most prominent because: A) He's the son of Ron Paul; the guy that started this whole liberty movement. His name sort of automatically associates him with Ron's ideas even though he doesn't have to spell it out himself.
B) He's going directly against GOP minority leader Mitch McConnell's pick "Ghey Fhayson" in Mitch's own state. Next to the presidency it's probably one of the best ways to go against the current establishment as possible.

This also brings up an idea my friend RyanRSheets had earlier about a multi-candidate money bomb where one website directs donations to the candidates that need a certain amount to win. It could be a good way to organize the focus on the moneybomb so instead of say having to promote one or two or even three moneybombs a month we only have to promote one. One moneybomb to rule them all. :-)

P.S.-Even though I believe strongly in Paul and have been doing everything I can to support him (I live in Kentucky) I've been donating as much as I can to Peter Schiff's campaign too. ;-)

Here is the link on Facebook for this event - I hope the link works. We need to get at least 1000 or so signed up to meet this goal - we only need 48 at this moment so looks like Matt's estimate to need 40k on the 30th was right on - SPREAD THE WORD! If this link doesn't work let me know ...

We have invited over 1800 to this aready with 70 confirmed and 95 maybes.
