Help Elect a RPF Lobbyist to RAND2016 Campaign!

Already done on my end. Glad to hear that others are joining.

ETA: Electronic version done, separate snail mail version going out by next week.

Hail Mary--gotta make sure we get things right.

I'll do this as well. Plus a phone call to both offices.

For me, it's about giving him fair warning. But then again, I don't really matter because I'm just "bad people....a fringe element".

I'm sensing sarcasm, doctor.

This is different, in my opinion.

Maybe a little sarcasm. :) But, I have said in past posts, that just because some are commenting here about issues, doesn't mean we (I) aren't contacting the office(s) and/or politician(s) in question. I'm glad to see some more advocating on this particular issue, especially if Rand is serious about winning in 2016, and HOPEFULLY this will be heard.

I would think the FEC indictments of those from Ron Paul 2012, a campaign that Rand was sending fundraising emails for, would be a fair enough warning. But, I have seen lack of judgement since that campaign ended in some regards that shouldn't have been an issue IMO. Hopefully these warnings don't fall on deaf ears.

So, I'd have to go with the only person capable of partially being able to herd cats, Bryan.
You can only lead people who are willing to follow a leader... lots of people around here would rather just do their own thing instead of doing what actually helps.

I nominate Gunny, Deb, or Penny Freeman.

Gunny is in an important state, and is close enough to where the headquarters is rumored to be located to drive over in a day if needed.
Not sure where Deb is located, but I think Penny Freeman is in Texas, so that's a bit far from Kentucky and not really a potential swing state at this point.

Deb is in CA and Penny is in TX.

Penny quit being Ron's office manager in protest over Benton being involved with the campaign. As I believe he was involved with Rand's Senate campaign, I doubt she would touch him. I've never talked to her about Rand, and it's been a couple/few years since I talked to her.

Something I would like to emphasize is that IT IS VERY ILLEGAL FOR A PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN TO COLLABORATE WITH THE GRASSROOTS!

That means they will not talk to us. Been there, done that. When we set up Ron's Meetup network Meetup required that the official campaign request the domain. Lotta lawyers later, they did and put the then technical director in charge of it. Problem was she couldn't talk to us and she was the only way to get a message to all the Meetups. Their anti-spam measures made communication a pain, which is why we set up organizer groups.

I did volunteer with the official campaign maintaining the directory of where we had groups in what states. It started on Yahoo, then Meetup, Myspace and Facebook plus the various forums. The communication was one way and in the form of a list, then spreadsheet. Blame the FEC for this.

We need to talk to them before they declare an exploratory committee is announced about how they want to do things or a ton of FEC butt hurt kicks in and we can't talk to them again. Part of me thinks we should have a structure where the grassroots are all campaign volunteers, but that kills creativity and if Rand is anything like Ron, there is a lot of BS like secrecy agreements and lists for door knocking have to be turned in within 24 hours - though you can blame the GOP voter vault for that crap. F'n lawyers...

anyway...

ps: Operation Cat Herder is my organization and that's what I have done - herd cats.

btw: I built a lot of the early infrastructure for Ron's campaign.

As to contacting a elected representatives or senators office about a campaign matter, that isn't allowed and they won't talk to you. It's illegal. I have sent a couple of people here contact info for TEAM RAND and if you are a senior member here and want the same, send me a PM. re: Benton protest letters/calls.

So much wrong with this post, especially coming from you.

Oh come on, why can't you for one time at least let him think he is in charge and leading?

Okay fine. Matt is wonderful, powerful, handsome and a fantastic leader. We'd all follow him to the ends of the Earth because of his keen wisdom.

(In his dreams. Sorry, couldn't do it.)

That's okay. I'm pretty sure Matt doesn't need any help in this regard ...

I have talked to her too.

Actually, it was less about Benton than the fact that the way Ron was staffing his campaign, it was clear Ron wasn't in it to win it. Deb was only interested in joining a campaign who was focused on actually winning.

Seriously, if this is the brainstorming phase, nobody should be passing judgment. That prevents the free flow of ideas. Throw everything on the table and then decide what's the best course to take.

Interested in joining official campaign youth committee.
