Hearings in MO on State Sovereignty & REAL ID

I wish HCR 13 was a little more like the one in NH, but I'll take it. I'll be calling my Rep first thing monday morning. Not to mention the Email he will be getting tonight. :D

After passing the House and making its way to the Senate, the MO anti-REAL ID bill, HB361, appeared to face the same fate as it did last year: die in the clutches of Senator Shields who refused to put it on the calendar.

He tried doing the same thing this year but was bombarded with activist phone calls and emails. (BTW TPTB were planning on building the REAL ID national database center in his district). He FINALLY put it on the calendar and even went to the podium saying something to the effect of, "This is the legislation I've been accussed of being a Judas."

That was last week. We then needed to get another Senator to put it up for a vote. This is what the Senator said late last week:

"Just because it's on the calendar doesn't mean it will come up for a vote. There are a lot of people who don't like the bill so it may not get voted on."

We applied the pressure and it finally went for a vote where it passed w/o a single nay vote (haven't verified 0 nays, but it did indeed pass!)

NO REAL ID IN MO in this last week of legislative activity for the year!!
