I know the health care bill has preventative programs is there a way i can get my health care provider or the US government to pay for my gym membership? i would be more happy if the government paid. because i think the best way to pop the bubble and everything i can do to cost the government to cost more i will do at this point.

Taxpayers would be paying for your gym membership, not the government. If you want a membership to the gym that is fine, I just shouldn't have to contribute to the payment of that membership.

poor u, u make it sound like your contributing and u account for non of the taxes i paid.

Ah taxpayer-funded benefits... the little gift you give yourself, and force everyone else to give you, too.

Go for a walk. It's free.

Contribute to a charity project building something. It's better than lifting weights indoors.

Swim. It's starting to turn lovely out.

Meditate. You'll live longer and you'll be more pleasant while you do.

Learn something. Your brain needs exercise, too. Judging from the evidence in this thread, it needs a lot more of it.

Cambodia

The Cambodian government had a great workout program - you plant rice while they point a gun at you. Maybe we can have a program like that.

What's the point in taxpayers paying for someone else's gym membership when the majority of Americans don't take care of themselves in the first place?

This is like the saying "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."

i really don't care about "how your paying for my gym membership" i just want to know how and what department would be in charge. the new health care bill states there must be preventable health care available. I think the possibility of being fat should be preventable health care. hence i want to apply to get my gym membership.

this summer i plan to be laid off (quit really) and go on unemployment and food stamps. I just want to milk the system to the max.

If your request has all the eloquence and passion of your posts here, you are likely to get assistance.

well

The YMCA usually offers free memberships to welfare and low income. To my knowledge that would be a non government program affiliated with the United Way.

I was at the YMCA a few weeks ago.. And saw a welfare kid pull their pants down and poop in the the pool. Parents watched the kid do it and did nothing to discipline them. I figured it probably was a family that got in for free.. If they had a membership, they would respect the equipment, and realize that kind of clean up is expensive. And will be factored into the monthly fee we pay.

ITT no one knows what they are talking about.

Obamacare didn't socialize the health system. We will all still buy buying insurance plans from private insurance companies.

And yes, there are lots of health insurance plans that will pay for your gym membership. My last plan would reimburse me for it if I went an average of 2.5 times a week for the entire year.

really explain more? what type of insurance is it? my job gives me insurance but once i go on unemployment i plan to go on the government health care Cobra or something like that, would u know if that reimburse me?

i would feel bad because i really don't need anything for free and YMCA didn't take my money at gun point. The government takes about 3k from me a year, so i'm just trying to recoup the losses.

If you have a Flex Account or HSA... You could get the doctor to write you out a prescription for a gym or health club membership then use that to pay for the fees.

Krazy Kaju is a liar and a thief.

Krazy Kaju copied material off of this page of my website and pasted it onto the Mises Institute website without citing his source.

Thief!

I demand that the Krazy Kaju credit all material lifted off of other people's websites and formally apologize for his thievery.

Liar!

Oh lol...it's this guy. Did you mean to start a new thread?
