Hawaii Caucus Results Thread

Paul is leading in Hawaii county again, though it is densely populated compared to the rest of the state.

Didn't ChocolateSteven say something about newly registered voters would be counted late, does that still hold, or is this already late?

Do Ron Paul folks do extra GOTV?

We have to. We need to do these things. It's almost as if no one understands how important GOTV is with populations of people who aren't reliable voters.

In fact it's not almost that. It is that. Over and over and over, people type "those college student are unreliable. they don't vote a lot." Right. That's why you have GOTV.

You don't need an ad. You need people Getting Out The Vote.

You can spend 100K on tv commercials and it won't do anything.

Or you can spend 100K on a tiny area like a college and get 1K 5K 10K votes.

Uhhhh...the problem Ron Paul has had is that he is focusing TOO much on colleges and clearly NOT getting 10K votes from those colleges. Even the ones that DO vote from the colleges are likely not "gets" for Ron Paul. They would have voted for him anyway. So that $100,000 would be better off reaching a smaller crowd of people that are far more likely to vote (compared to the 10% at best of college students) and who are less likely to vote for Ron Paul unless he talks to them.

He has to talk to us older people. I would like to see a TV spot where he looks right in the camera, right into the heart, and lays it down for the old timers.

There is some sort of information floating around which states that the newly registered voters would be counted latter. I am not sure if that means latter tonight or too late to matter. I have not been able to locate the original source of this information.

That sounds like a superb idea. Even if they don't have the cash to put it on the air at least people could use computers to show it to their relatives.
Either way it seems like it would be worthwhile.
