Having trouble in supporting paul in my school

Draft

Post a fake draft notice and then hand out Paul literature to all the irate people who show up at the "draft location" to protest.
JK

I'm 17 and a senior at my high school...Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get the other seniors at my school interested in Ron Paul? There seems to be a lack of interest among kids who will be able to vote in the next election, but who are not yet 18, which is most of the senior class. Ideas?

Preach freedom and liberty. Maybe get some gear from:

Anything that bucks authority or the status quo always attracts our younger generation. Instead of Che Guevera, let's make it Paul Revere.

Turn your government or American history teacher onto him and get him or her talking about Ron Paul.

Does your dress code allow hats?

Do you drive to school? If so, a bumper sticker wouldn't hurt.

And yeah, as someone said, sidewalk chalk could be an OK idea.

It doesn't allow hats, we generally have to wear slacks/dress shirts/ties. And I will be driving to school as soon as I pass my driving test, which will be soon. The school I go to is a catholic school, and it's about half and half between kids who really believe in the faith and the kids who don't really care. Any oppourtunities there?

I have one more suggestion. Attach yourself to some YOUNG adults who support Ron Paul. You'll reap rewards from that long beyond the campaign.

alot of highschoolers are waking up to what is wrong in the world, wars, the draft, pay into social security to get nothing back, our dollar is worth less every day, school districs are power tripping and so are cops, we're lacking the freedom that america was born with and all our politicians are corrupt. Alot are anti-illegal immigration, think taxes are way to high, and really don't want a north american union or torture of prisoners, or the war on drugs. Discuss with all of them, get slim jims, but a bumper sticker on your car, give your teachers slim jims, tell kids to give them to their parents. Kids have alot of say in families these days, use that to our advantage. Plus they will give it to their parents and convince them when they get passionate about this. And i know this because ive converted a few kids, teachers, and parents now, being a sophomore in highschool. :)

edit: also i asked my econ teacher what he would think of getting rid of the federal reserve, going back to the gold standard, and getting rid of no child left behind and the department of education. he said it was the best idea he's ever heard

OOOH yeah--the draft.

I read yesterday that there's some legislation floating around that says that you can't attend college "until you complete your mandatory national service," whatever that means. I have no idea if this is true or not.

Eeeek!! Sounds like the Hitler Youth or something:mad: Giuliani and Hillary fascists .....ahhhhhh!!!!!

To answer the question, promote the peace idea. If that fails, scaremonger them with the recent talk of a draft.

mention the other candidates love of war and a possible draft

right there you go...

ask them how they expect to fight a war in iran, iraq, and afghanistan while maintaining out commitments to both NATO, South Korea, Japan, and the drug war when out military is stretched so thin it's about to break.

the only solution they got is a draft.

don't forget the really smart kids. ie: library club, computer club etc. ;)

i would be hanging signs everywhere, in tough to remove places...get people talking. and tell your friends.

put slim-jims in every single locker (through the vent holes). just do it when things are..quiet in the halls. :)

Absolutely! Ron Paul is THE candidate with the consistent life ethic. He is the BEST presidential candidate that a Catholic can vote for. He is a churchgoing Christian against abortion AND against the death penalty, and he believes in the Just War Doctrine which was developed by St. Augustine and upheld by St. Thomas Aquinas.

You should be able to get both the people who dislike the Republican backing of pre-emptive war and the death penalty AND the people who dislike the Democratic backing of abortion.

That's another question: Should I get permission before I just start putting out materials? This is a PRIVATE school, remember, so things as far as speech etc. are different from that of a public school.

Look for the "free spirits" and appeal to their sense of freedom. These are the kids who can't stand the teachers who like to use their authority JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN. These kids are easy to spot. They're not bad kids. They often dance to the beat of a different drum. They don't easily swallow the pablum that's dished out in school and they may be bored in class. They may have friends that belong to several different cliques. They might even have a collection of friends that would never all get along together.

How do I know this? I used to be one of those kids. Now, I'm one of the adults.
I was that kid in high school. :D

hah, you just decsriibed me in HS! I had so many different cliques of friends, even some that didn't like others. Always made for interesting parties and you always knew of something going on!

Student slim jims

Not sure if your school would allow slim jims, but if not, you could always pass them out in private. Get 'em at the Ron Paul store here:

http://www.ronpaul2008store.com/servlet/Detail?no=37

There are two versions targeting students!

Please correct me if I am wrong here, but my understanding is that he would decriminalize marijuana, not legalize it. States could still have laws against its use. We just wouldn't have the federal government waging a fictitious war on drugs.

I think he would decriminalize it, because legalizing it is not the answer, which is something i've heard from numerous amounts of my weed smoking friends.

Ask a poli sci or social sciences teacher to show a recording of the next debate and then, have the class debate what the candidates said.

Maybe that'll get the seniors interested.
