If your precinct has no chair...apply! It's nearly impossible to form an arguement why not to fill and empty seat.

If your precinct does have a chair....talk to him/her. Ask when the meeting are, how you can help, etc

Regular meetings are public, except during "executive session", and that only happens when someone is being appointed etc...

I was active in the GOP before Ron Paul and will be active after Ron Paul. I just hope Ron Paul's run got more old school conservatives active in the GOP, so we can take it back.

I'm actually the Vice-President of the group rancher is in. We have 3 Paul supporters out of 7 officers .

I was at the Mecklenburg County Executive Meeting on Monday evening. NOBODY HAD ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT RON PAUL!!! The leaders of the party know what kind of leadership and passion we've brought with the Paul campaign. Many of the local judicial candidates are VERY Constitutional, and are very impressed with Ron Paul.

We are being accepted here. One supporter was actually asked to run for NC State House.

Okay, I am not familiar with the election process of NC. But I can assure you, there is a process in place that will allow you to run for your "county" seat, as well as the "At large" positions. Of course, if they all have a vote on the Executive Committee, take whatever seat becomes available first. Check the by-laws of your local party structure to get the correct information.

In addition, there will also be a process to "elect" the "State" representatives for the 12th District, please become familiar with that process as well if possible.

If we local GOP old-timers can get these fresh, young whipper-snappers into our local executive committees (en mass), maybe we can take our party back from the moneyed-interest who have stolen it.

All Ron Paul supporters have to do is become familiar with their own local county GOP election process and participate. I am hoping the Ron Paul campaign would help organize this effort through their new web design efforts.

I joined, became active, and was elected (unopposed) as Precinct Chairman. The Jefferson County, Texas, GOP Chairman - Shane Howard - is even more liberty-minded than I am. And because of him, I have a pretty good chance of becoming a National Delegate (or at least Alternate).

In point of fact, every Paulista should be able to answer these two very, very important questions and be willing to act on them.

Yes, it's a learning process and I'm working on it. These at large seats are the first that have come up since I started paying attention to what the gop has going on. The gop is weak in our 12th district and as such the positions should be fairly easy to obtain.....

The Executive Committee is made up of the Precinct Chairpersons. If there is an open seat, a member can be appointed by the Executive committee. If it is contested, it appears as a race on the primary ballot.

We don't have county representation, per se. Our county is made up of portions of two State Senate Districts. The SREC members are chosen at the State Convention in the Senatorial District Caucuses. One man and one woman represents each Senate District. We do have a well-qualified Liberty-minded woman running for the women's SREC spot (the current representative is term-limited), but she's from two counties over, and I don't really know her.

I just got back from filling out my affidavit of identy, had it notarized and turned it in to the township clerk. Now my name will go on the ballot for precinct delegate. Small potatoes I know but the opening was there, so I am going for it. That is in Michigan. Allegan County.

No, you are wrong...it's a very big step. It is a step I will wager few of Ron Paul supporters will actually have the courage to take for themselves and yet you have. Congratulations.

I would hope the Ron Paul campaign can at least send out an email message to all of his supporters in your precinct asking them to contact you and support your efforts.

Precinct chairpersons serve 2 year terms, elected in even-numbered years on the primary ballot. There are no term limits. Sorry for not making that clear.

Fair or not, counties aren't represented individually in the Texas State Republican Party. Representation is done by State Senate District, and those representatives are chosen at the State Convention by the delegates. The general membership's only vote is on delegates.

In the Texas GOP, power is really in the hands of the most active.

Could you rephrase your questions. I do not understand what it is you are asking me. Our "state" GOP representatives, do you mean party chairman? He has had his position for awhile and is one of the loyalists. I haven't even paid any dues yet.lol

I'd agree with NCGOPerForPaul that it appears that Mecklenburg county is making an effort to fold Paulites into the party structure.

I even got a call from the GOP asking me if I'd be interested in being a precinct organizer, for the one I was elected from at convention. I said I'd think it over... I just moved from that precinct, but still have rental property there. Although, I have other reasons in my life too that could make it difficult to commit for 2 years.

In any case - he gave my the organizer's name for my new precinct and asked me to stay involved with the party. It confirms that the local level people are not all "Hannitized". Our real problem is with the national leadership.
