I talked to Leutkemeyer's local field rep. and he will be voting against cap and trade as well as the health care bs

Stop calling your Congressmen. Your attempts to "fix" America are futile.

The ship of America has been hit by a torpedo, it is going to sink regardless of the actions you take to save it. All you're doing by calling your Representatives is essentially scooping water out of the boat with a bucket. You're prolonging the inevitable...that's it.

Allow the country to fail, and we have a chance to change this country and perhaps get back to the ideals our founders believed in. The worse it gets, the more people who will wake up.

By calling your Reps. and telling them to vote no, you're keeping us in limbo. We live in shitty times, but not shitty enough to wake people up. The shittier it gets, the more people wake up; we need legislation like this to pass to make this place even shittier.

In all honesty, we need more fascist/socialist legislation to pass. It has to get worse before it can get better, and not calling your Reps. will speed up the process.

My Rep voted for the banker bailout last year, after he voted against it. I wrote him a letter telling him I no longer consider him my representative. I will not call him; he works for the globalists.

The Marshal Law threat must have gotten to him.

Get out of this thread!

I don't agree Scofield. It is wrong in itself to do nothing when evil acts occur. Good people are suffering and we need to work against those who make them suffer. Good men doing nothing is at the root of why the U.S. are in such a mess. If we "allow the country to fail", we'll probably get "rescued" by the United Nations or the European Union at the expense of our liberties, or they might establish a North American Union here. You should call your Congressmen now. We all need to help one another by calling them.

You @$$#0!&.

By that logic then welcoming a communist dictatorship would be the best way to wake people up and start over, but by then it would be too late.

I don't believe in begging my so-called representatives (masters), and I don't believe participating in the sysytem will help at all, so I won't be calling.

97% of the calls, faxes, and emails that came in about the bailouts were against them, yet, the authoritarian sociopaths shoveled our money to the banksters anyway.

Why do you think this time will be different?

Bernanke scared the crap out of them, telling them our entire financial system would collapse if they didn't pass the bailout.

It's a different situation with this bill.

The people stopped the jerks from passing amnesty, a couple of times. They want to keep their jobs.

It's a 2-3 minute phone call! What do you have to lose to just pick up the damn phone?

Dear Friend of Liberty,

Legislative sources on the Hill have informed me that a vote on "Cap-and-Trade" (Cap-and-Tax) is likely to come around 5 pm eastern today.

Once again, most legislators have no idea what is in the 1,201 page bill about to be put up for final vote.

Passing Cap-and-Trade is a very high priority for the Obama administration, but a procedural vote earlier this morning only produced a 217-205 favorable result. This very tight margin proves your calls and emails are having an impact.

Now is the time to turn up the pressure. Call your representative, Blaine Luetkemeyer, at (202) 225-2956 immediately and urge him to vote against this latest tax scheme. (American families could end up paying several thousand dollars a year in higher energy bills as a result of HR 2454.)

Make sure Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer at (202) 225-2956 hears from you! For email and fax information, visit our HR 2454 action page here.

In Liberty,

John F. Tate
President

I think that's how they want you to feel.

In fact, they are counting on it.

I hate the state and the political process also. Calling a representative isn't selling out or anything though, just like complaining about horrible legislation to any non-politician.

My self-proclaimed blue-dog Democrat is still considering, and leaning yes. I keep calling but it keeps busy!

If anyone lives in District 1 Maryland, please help! Kratovil has been swayed in the past.

I couldn't get through to his DC office, I called one of his other 3 and finally got in. Try all possible phonelines.

My rep is a left wing nut job. I am not calling.
If it passes, I may call senators, not quite so far left wing nut job.

*Very* hard to get through on phone lines in the last few hours before the vote. I was hoping that was a good sign everyone was raising hell with the representatives on the hill. (I had called early on, but as the vote neared the Capital Hill switchboard seemed melt down)

I've found that faxes can sometimes get through when the phone lines are clogged... I'm not trying to advertise for this company, but I've found FaxZero (www.faxzero.com) to be handy in times like this. Using FaxZero, you can send a fax directly from your computer, and for free.
I was able, at the very least, to send in a fax...

In this particular case, it probably didn't matter much. My rep is Mike Pence, who has been trying to make a name for himself by opposing much of Pelosi's agenda anyway....
