Have Christians ever sought to conquer the World for Christianity ?

Been to western Europe and parts of north America recently?

Yes, but conversions always happen, Muslims convert to other religions as well in Europe and North America. I don't think there's a mass movement among Muslim organizations to convert people. I think in the future Europe will be more atheist than Islamic.

It's also hard to tell how the second and third generation of Muslim immigrants will be like.

There was also an article on the American Conservative how Christianity is actually overtaking Islam in Africa by way of converting people.

Historically, few religions have refused the use of force in converting non-believers.

"......churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit". - Thomas Paine in "The Age Of Reason."

Several of the more influential founders believed in God, but rejected religion.

You know I did a whole project for my AP human geography class if Islam is evil or not. I would be happy to explain that it isn't. Look at this verse in the Quran.

Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors. quran 2:190

The muslims won't fight but will fight for defence.

While I appreciate what I believe to be the spirit of your statement, there are a couple of problems.

First: Muslims have historically been warrior people. This is particularly true of the Arabs, Turks, and Persians.

Second: you commit the all too common error of speaking in monobloc terms as if "Muslims" can be pigeon-holed so readily. This is about as successful as saying negroes are all lazy, thieving chasers of white women, Jews are all conspiring to take over the world, and white people are all racists. One should exercise caution with such statements.

Third: The passage you quote, read to 1000 people, will receive at least 1001 interpretations, some of them varying wildly from the mean. Such passages have been used to gain buy-in from the "flock" to some pretty vile and evil agendas. Anything can be twisted into something it was never meant to be.

Fourth: To say that Muslims will not not fight is ridiculous on its face. They have a very long and bloody history as fighters. To their credit, they have generally been far and away more honorable in their violence than has the Roman church, whose greatest minds have given the world the most successful strategies of death, mutilation, misery, and destruction the planet and the race is ever likely to know.

I always figured parts of Europe would just be ultra socialist atheist in the long run , time will tell.

One just needs to look at present time and this poll which clearly shows how much more likely you are to get brainwashed by the media propaganda into following a big government psychopath "leader":

That is only 15% of all religious people are behind Ron vs almost 59% of atheists. Interesting right?

And of course your poll totally ignores how many atheists support Obama. But that's on purpose right? Tell me the breakdown of Christian versus Atheist support for Fidel Castro?

Anyone have a youtube of the POPE giving a speech about ending these wars like right now?
