Hannity just said Ron Paul will do better than expected in primaries

I think the republican establishment politicians are desperate to put up a candidate of their liking (status quo/don't rock the boat). They got Newt but know he can't win so they are trying to talk M. Daniels, C. Christie, or P. Ryan into running.

If contributions are limited to $2,500? for each half of the race, what is the benefit of businessmen?I honestly don't know, that's why I'm asking.
A group of Iowa milionaire businessmen flew out to try to convince Christie to run last week.

It's not that they could contribute more, but that the are successful businessmen that have a lot of political power here in Des Moines and central Iowa. They said they didn't yet see a candidate they liked who was showing promise of running, and wanted to influence Christie to run. I think they looked at it as a few of them trying to use their influence to get a candidate to run that would be best for the country, it had nothing to do with how much they could personally contribute under campaign finance laws.

If Chris Christie runs, we're DOA. That guy is the real deal. And as much as I love his fiscal stingyness, I don't know his FP and I don't know his thoughts about the Federal Reserve. Also, he's anti-gun.

we know...

Christies negatives will jump skyhigh if he enters the race. Cap-and-trade, anti-gun and other liberal ideas.
