Handy Tip for keeping You Tube videos

Hi again,

I've been using the new Real Player to download good videos on YouTube whenever I find one. When you have it installed and visit a site with a flash movie (ie YouTube), it gives you a little download tab at the top when you hover your mouse over the movie. You just hit download and it saves the movie for you.
This means you can show the videos to someone when you aren't near the web, if you are on a laptop...it's a godsend. Already many of my friends here have been introduced to Ron Paul because of this ability...along with other important documentaries, we're all learning alot that's for sure! And no I don't work for them! =)

Thought it might help with introducing people to Ron Paul, especially the new campaign videos! I just started a different thread about them before...but here's a link to the first one anyway. they are excellent!

I won't install any of Real's hogware on my PC. It'd be nice to have that functionality, but not for the sacrifice of having RealPlayer taking over everything I try to do.

For the time being, I'm using http://www.saveallvideos.com

I use firefox with the Download Helper plugin.

I use this too. I think that Any Flv player complements this nicely:

It's a simple, clean, and free flv player.

Thank you for you tips Dan....It's good to see that people are using their laptops to get out the word about Ron Paul. Thank you for your hard work.

Thank you for the link too. It's a good one.

some of these players allow you to burn straight to DVD as well....you can fit hundreds of short clips on a dvd. its the way to go =)

Hey, thanks Jim! I've been thinking there has to be a Firefox extension for this, but kind of forgot to look lately. Now I just have to figure out all the download options this gives me.

BTW, you can add an FLV codec for winamp. just google flv and winamp, there were a few steps to getting it done, but it's nice to run them on your default player.

Agreed
