Yep. Halloween is when women all over discover their inner ho.

"Ah halloween, the one magical night where it's normal for girls to dress like sluts and drink way too much while we can wear large bulky costumes to hide what we actually look like underneath"
~Frank from 30 Rock

Holidays like this remind me why I tend to hate women more than men. As for my facebook status:

"'Dear Ladies, Halloween is not an excuse for you to act or dress like whores. Nor is it an excuse for your pathetic attempt to get the attention of the opposite sex. Thank you.'"

I actually said very loudly whilst trick or treating with my children to a couple 16 or 17 year olds behind us, "if you're old enough to dress like a whore, you are too old to trick or treat."

I'm getting grumpier.

What is wrong with expressing one's sexuality?

Is it just because you think they are doing it for the sake of pleasing the opposite sex (if so I empathize with the perspective of that being shallow), or is there something else more inherent about wearing little clothes in public that you do not like?

I'm thinking its also possible, not that I understand female psychology more than females.., that some women might dress this way just to express their sexuality. It just happens that Halloween has allowed such fashion to be more socially acceptable, and woman who are more reserved every other day of the year seize this moment to allow their clothes (outfit) to reflect their hormones and fantasies. I'm trying to differentiate this mindset from what you described as only a sort of advertisement to males.
