Generally you don't ever have to "erase" the outbox. the outbox is for emails that are in the process of being sent; so its generally empty. after being sent the item is moved to the "sent box".

I agree. "Outbox" versus "Sent Items" is not something a hacker would mistake. A reporter mistaking them doesn't seem likely either.

The person that deleted her emails surely disconnected the computer from the internet and wiped the harddrive clean - probably with double-super-high level of harddrive wiping.

Which means the hacker would have broken into it before the email story hit the news.

Doubtful.

Yes definitely the Dept. of Justice does, the backup server of the web server hosting company in Denver
has been cooperating with the DOJ as reported in the UK Guardian - Apt 2K loft apartment mom and pop web server for Hillary does her in.
