It is true that things are not that bad yet. But it is too late to prepare for the bad when it is already upon you. Claire Wolfe's quote about "that odd time" is appropriate indeed.
I've been "awake" to what's going on for about 19 years now. I have seen a lot happen,...and a lot NOT happen.
I am not as scared of the impending doom culminating as soon as I used to think it might,...but I'm still scared. I just have it under control now.
In a way, I am both glad things have not come to a head as I thought they would, and also not. At 39, I'm now no longer in possession of the youth and health that would be needed to actively participate as a black operator when it is time for such things. I admit to being selfishly glad that I probably won't have to do that while I'm alive. However,...at least until the Ron Paul Revolution grew this big, it seemed there were fewer and fewer fundamentalists like myself in the upcoming generations who understood the state of the devolution of our body of law, and that there would eventually be no one willing to fight. War is a young man's game.
Simply do what you can do. You can remain awake and aware. You can accumulate the tools of war as you are able. (This includes not just hardware, but software, too. Acquire enough for you and family and friends.) You can expend all peaceful efforts and opportunities to avert what we see coming. That's what the Ron Paul Campaign is all about!! Also make every effort to earn a comfortable living, because none of these things I've mentioned are cheap. Grow to have the means to contribute to the fight, whether it be peaceful or otherwise.
You are not a nut. You are not paranoid. You owe no appologies.
But while I do not wish to diminish anyone's energy and optimism for Ron Paul, I simply must tell you that you need to have a back-up plan. You have to always be thinking, "What do I do if this gets worse?" It would be a shame if you were to allow a Ron Paul defeat to crush your spirit enough that you gave up hope.
For myself, having been a Libertarian since 1990, and seen and been a part of all kinds of political activism, I had become somewhat jaded. I just didn't see, as a group, the people who understand what freedom is and that we have lost it, growing. At least not at a pace that promised much chance of ever reclaiming it. Like many Libertarians, I was happy to see Paul get in the race. I knew he was out to try to educate. I knew I was going to do what I could for him. But I was also certain that he'd be ignored, pushed aside and written off from the beginning, and that it would all be over before Christmas. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised to see Paul's message of freedom catch on!! And I can truthfully say,...our chances have not ever been this good!!!!
Because of the momentum the campaign has already had, even if Paul loses, we have won a great deal. We have awoken people. We have shown that it IS possible for the ideals of freedom to be politically viable and popular today. At this point last year, I didn't believe that anymore. And I'm a diehard son-of-a-bitch!! This has energized me for another decade, at least. Imagine what it has done for others.
