The Toyota Prius has become the flagship car for those in our society so environmentally conscious that they are willing to spend a premium to show the world how much they care. Unfortunately for them, their ultimate ‘green car’ is the source of some of the worst pollution in North America; it takes more combined energy per Prius to produce than a Hummer.
Before we delve into the seedy underworld of hybrids, you must first understand how a hybrid works. For this, we will use the most popular hybrid on the market, the Toyota Prius.

Seriously. If you're that concerned, get a old Honda CRX 3-banger, or ride a bike. If you want a hybrid that bad the Honda Insight has a lead-acid battery that is at least recyclable. Not a Honda fan, but at least their hybrid isn't as bad.

I'll stick with my V6's, V8's, and Rotaries. The prius drivers can continue destroying the enviroment while blaming it on others.

The thought crosses my mind. I believe people lack the proper filters for what they say to women when the see them out with their children nowadays. Then you have internet forums where women from various political backgrounds associate and wow is it bad. Birth boards are the worst!

A quick Google says that the batteries are NIMH which, in my opinion, certainly should be recyclable.

Seriously though, A Prius gets terrible mileage for what it's supposed to be IMOH. 50 MPG? There are several straight gasoline cars that are getting 45 right? Certainly all of that engineering should be able to produce better?

I also wonder if the electric usage is taken into account when the MPG rating is calculated. I hope so.

there are a ton of gasoline cars in europe that've been getting 50+mpg for quite some time. you just can't get them in the US, probably because our government won't allow it because it'd put our local manufacturers out of business.

my 1993 honda civic hatch is 18 years old and i still give 40-43mpg on it. pretty sad that a shiny new prius with the latest and greatest technology can barely eek out my 18 year old gasoline powered car.

My dad had a Plymouth (?) 024 back in the mid 80's that got close to 40.

I have a 1970 BOSS 302 Mustang that i drive around and cruise in during summers and sunny days only. I put 110 octane LEADED racing fuel in it for 10 bucks a gallon. I mix it with premium 94 pump gas. I'm waiting for my 'encounter' from a freak like this. So far...nothing yet.

I hate it when I grab something to eat and find a far isolated place at the far corner end of a parking lot where no one is around. Then some jackass with a diesel pulls right up next to me and leaves the truck running. They have the entire parking lot, but no they have to pull up next to me and then sit there an idle with all the exhaust.

I am not sure if that is what happened and even though they have a right to do that, it is just ignorant and a dick move. If someone is sitting in their car parked at a far corner where no one is around, you do not pull up next to them and idle.

I just typically just move, but if I was having a shitty day like maybe this woman was having who knows maybe I would have lost my cool and been like wtf!

She did behave inappropriately but if it was that kind of situation then these people instigated it and therefore probably a dick thing putting that video up on the net despite her inappropriate behavior.

Many forget that the USA has over 300 million personal firearms when confronting someone that they do not know. Always show respect will garner respect. The woman in the PRius has a holy than thou attitude. She was overweight, thus she should be riding a bicycle for her health rather than complaining at people.
