Gubernatorial candidate blasts Free State movement

I heard this on the radio this evening and thought the sound bite seemed to provide at least a little evidence that Jackie Cilley (D-Barrington) has qualms with liberty-minded individuals:

Cilley said the Republicans in control of the Legislature are attacking education, women, gays and public employees. She said that isn't what New Hampshire stands for.

"The Free State/Tea Party/John Birch politicians in Concord are attacking the very foundation of our traditions in the Granite State," she said in prepared remarks.

I don't disagree that some in Concord on both sides of the aisle have been up to some freedom-limiting things lately, but to take shots at the free state mentality that's quite snug here is pretty interesting.

A lot of Democrats and even the main union boss in NH talk about how strong FSPers influence state government. They think it is a bad thing but I love the compliments. They hate freedom and know we like it. They are scared of becoming more free because the less freedom there is, the more powerful they are.

On the other hand, lots of GOPers praise the FSP and FSPers. The last governor of NH was a Friend of the FSP and welcomed FSPers to NH. The Sen. Majority Leader welcomed FSPers to NH. The Speak of the House likes FSPers. The co-Chair of the Republican House Alliance is a FSPer. Even the Union Leader likes FSPers. When some Manchester Democratic Party leaders came out against FSPers, the Union Leader defended FSPers.

Our power in NH will only grow as more and more people in NH meet us and like us. Of course, more FSPers continue to move to NH. Over 1000 already On there other hand, there are already many, many pro-liberty people in NH. Ron Paul did get 59,000+ votes, after all. That is no easy task considering the 44 candidates on the ballot on 1/10/2012. Compare that to NV where only 4 candidates were on the ballot but Ron Paul only got 6,000+ votes.

Not only did the Democrats talk about the dangerous FSPers during their state convention last year, but now they are starting to talk about it at there local meetings. Dover is one of the largest cities in NH at around 30,000 people. Since part of the Democratic plan to win back control of NH government is to highlight how effective FSPers have been at rolling back the size of government, I'm not at all surprised by this.

DOVER — The Dover Democratic Committee will meet Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. at 660 Central Ave., at the Organizing for America office. The public is invited, and all Dover Democrats as well as undeclared voters are encouraged to come.

Caitlin Rollo, chair of the Strafford County Democratic Committee, will speak on "The Free State Project in New Hampshire — Who? What? Where?"

"It is crucial that Democrats learn about and understand the Free State Project, which has worked to recruit 20,000 people specifically to New Hampshire to further their political philosophy and agenda," the Dover committee chair Wendy Alley said in announcing the program.

According to Wikipedia, Organizing for America is "is a community organizing project of the Democratic National Committee.[1][2][3] Founded after the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama, the group seeks to mobilize supporters in favor of Obama's legislative priorities."

The former governor of NH, a Republican, liked the FSP. He welcomed us to NH and became a Friend of the FSP. The current Speaker of the House, a Republican, likes the FSP. That makes sense as he would not be Speaker if the FSPers didn't vote for him in that election. Even the Sen Majority Leader, a Republican, likes the FSP.

Let’s kill the republican party and push for free state movement philosophy of wiping out government and the programs that we need to protect us from predatory business practices (consumer protection), programs to help those most in need with no resources to help themselves and unprecedented and unwarranted attacks on our middle class work force and public sector employees.

Political frustration while stuck on a dark bridge

This was not easy, because the bridge lights were out. The lights were out as part of the N.H. Department of Transportation's austerity program.

I live near this bridge, and in the summer when the windows are open, fender benders and much worse are normal summer sounds. This austerity is false economy. It is a matter of public safety to have that bridge well-lit. The engine driving this austerity is a coalition of tea party, John Birchers, Free State Project and homegrown Libertarians calling themselves Republicans. They have defunded the University of New Hampshire by half, they want to end public education, and they are dumping the burden of all taxation on property owners.

I want my state back, I want the security lights on, I want my UNH to be a well-funded, good university, I want your children in good public schools, I want the potholes repaired (remember when they were seasonal?), and I want them to slink back to their states of origin and leave us alone.

At a time when New Hampshire is falling behind other states in its ability to attract new businesses with good jobs for our citizens, the Free State/Tea Party Legislature in Concord is putting our economic future at even greater risk. On Wednesday a legislative committee of conference passed CACR 13, a constitutional amendment that, if approved by the voters in November, will forever ban taxes on incomes.

Sure enough, CARC13 did pass the legislature and now the question will be before the voters in November. It passed the NH Senate 19-4 with Democratic support. It passed the NH House 256-110. Those Free Staters are terrible people! How dare they vote to allow the voters to vote on amending the NH Constitution. Certainly Cilley is correct that voters should never have any influence on the NH Constitution.

Some pro-liberty Democrats are thinking about coming out and endorsing Cilley. That would be funny.

I guess that guy seem too bad, don't know much about him though.

If I end up staying in new england I think I'm definitely going to move to NH. Might be a year or two until I get there though.
