Great footage.
There was around 10k there, because some people that were marching left and could not go forward (people with little kids, the elderly) - the heat was just to much. Also, there were people along the march route that just held up signs and watched. Some left and didn't come back until around 3:30, when RP was said to start speaking (he didn't until quite a bit later). Some just marched. Some were too busy running around (picking up speakers, going on water runs, etc) to be caught in the action.
Brilliant video to show our magnitudeThank you.
The march route was nearly 1.2 miles, and at one point we stretched almost the entire distance. If there were only 2000 people, then we would have had to be single file, 2.5 feet apart. I think the video easily debunks that. There had to be AT LEAST 8,000 - 12,000 to stretch that far and wide. The people saying a couple thousand couldn't count my change at Wal-Mart!![]()
My estimation is around 10,000 marchers. Many people collapsed from heat exhaustion and had to be treated by our medic team. It was brutally hot! The rally thinned to about 8,000 for most of the day and ended with Ron Paul speaking to about 4-5,000. I can't tell you how proud I am of all the people who showed up.
I think we all owe a big thank you to gunjin22 for having the presence of mind to videotape the march as it went past... but the video ends around the mini-blimp?
I was a way back behind the mini-blimp, so I'm not even IN the video! Where's the rest?
