Article is by Matt Taibbi, who I'm not too familiar with but is a Rolling Stone contributing editor. I assume he is a liberal, but reading the article with an eye of liberty I can't help but hear Dr. Paul's warnings ringing loud and clear.

One question I have is on the former ban on interstate banking and what are others' thoughts on that.

This is a great article, someone else sent it to me yesterday. I was wondering the same thing on interstate banking.

I really like Taibbi, although sometimes after his rants, he goes on about how the government needs to reign in these Evil Greedy Capitalists.

The last paragraph of this long, good article ends with sentiments that are straight out of Dr. Paul's campaign speeches. It'd be great if Taibbi would come over to the Paul side, but he's likely swallowed the racist/homophobe/etc., drivel that anti-Paul folks throw out. :( At least Taibbi is seeming to be less impressed with .gov, in general.

One thing that interested me was him describing how BoA bought Merrill, when they shouldn't have. In this Frontline piece, BoA is portrayed as the victim, forced by Paulson (a Goldman Sachs proxy? ;) ) to buy Merrill, Or Else... While there's a bit of dissonance between these two pieces, I look at is "if Wall Street outsider BoA is that bad, and they were threatened to buy Merrill in order to bring them down, just imagine how stinky GS is...!"

It amazes me that some people of such intelligence attribute this to capitalism.

Government enables abuses in the market - and the solution is more government.
