Oh look, yet another "if they were serious about DOGE they wouldn't even bother with this" appointment
Trump's base relies on FEMA
Then they're more ready to trash it than I am.
The reports of FEMA incompetence have been pouring in for the last 19 years at least since Katrina. I haven't heard a single "thank God FEMA was there to help" story.

Trump needs to put his people in these positions to facilitate shrinking or destroying the agencies, they have to get in there and drag the skeletons out of the closet to facilitate executive firing and Congressional disbanding.
You're thinking of FEMA as trucks full of bottled water.
You should be thinking of FEMA as truckloads of cash that primarily subsidizes the economies of southern states. Almost $50 billion this year.
That's a raw deal for them. They'd be better off keeping their share of the tax dollars that are funding that, even if their share is only $30 billion to spend however they want, instead of $50 billion that has to be spent the way the feds want it spent.
Granted, you're probably still right that the people and local politicians in those states who make up Trump's base probably don't understand that.

I will just point this out, your prejudice and constant generalizations against red state Americans rivals and surpasses that of your nemesis AF's dislike of immigrants. You have just chosen a more politically correct group of people to dislike.Granted, you're probably still right that the people and local politicians in those states who make up Trump's base probably don't understand that.
A good portion of the people in the Helene hit area are unemployed, homeless, etc. They'd like some of their money back. It is a raw deal. They know it, but that is reality and how the game is played. People are desperate. They are reaching for any help they can get. You really have no feel for the pulse of this nation.

I have no prejudice against red state Americans. I am one myself.

Edit: Notice how your first paragraph in this post expresses the exact thing that I attributed to people which you called prejudice and generalizations against them. Somehow, when you say the same thing, its not prejudice and generalizations against them. And somehow when I say the very thing that you do about them, for me it means that I have no feel for the pulse of the nation.
I have no prejudice against red state Americans. I am one myself.
This is why nobody takes you seriously.
