The Road to Liberty

A Grassroots Adventure

"Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth." - George Washington

------------------------------
------------------------------

The Tree of Liberty, a worthy symbol of our goal. It provides oxygen & life, it grows and matures when left alone, unfettered.

The Liberty Tree (1646–1775) was a famous elm tree that stood in Boston, near Boston Common, in the days before the American Revolution. The tree was a rallying point for the growing resistance to the rule of England over the American colonies. In the years that followed, almost every American town had its own Liberty Treea living symbol of popular support for individual liberty and resistance to tyranny.

I like the green aspects of it. Symbolizing revitalization, life, nature - how things SHOULD be (natural law - :p).

You could specifically add in walkers, riders (Ron Paul supporters) going along a yellow/GOLD (;)) brick road, leading to the base of the tree... :)

There could be other moments of greatness added in, a blimp in the background sky.. etc. But I think it would be best to keep it subtle, not overcrowded as it, would seem to me anyway, to lessen the overall message. Maybe you could have all the added in bits on the back cover? :)

Alternate titles:
"Ron Paul: Road to Liberty"

"Ron Pauls Tree of Liberty"

The Revolution: A Documentary

edit: but should Ron Paul be in the actual title so it's clearly about Ron Paul?

Just brainstorming... most of these will suck, but maybe they'll spark an idea for somebody else.

Ron Paul Was Right
Ron Paul Goes To Washington
Ron Paul: Reigniting the American Revolution
Ron Paul's Secret To Internet Dominance
A Concise Path To Liberty
A 12-Step Program For Sheep
Ron Paul: Phoenix Of The GOP
Ron Paul: The Man, The Vision, The Supporters (and The Cookies)

We debated that, if his name should be in the title or not. Didn't really come to any solid conclusions. No doubt there will be pictures of him on the DVD cover, such as a pic of his name on a sign or something. I want the title to be very clever, and spark interest from non-supporters or people who have never heard of Ron Paul.

Think The Smartest Guys In the Room, the brilliant doc about Enron. It doesn't say anything about Enron in the title, but makes all the sense in the world after you know what it's about.

How about "The Spark of Liberty"? Or even more simple, just "The Spark"?

Brushfires

"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

-Sam Adams.

I wanted to buy Brushfires.Org and start a grassroots political group... but it was taken.

Movie Title:

He Has A Blimp: How Ron Paul's Neopatriot Revolution Changed America

My ideas:

-Watering The Tree Of Liberty- referring to the famous Jefferson quote

-A New Hope I like this one because of the now famous YouTube video that opened alot of eyes and ears. I'm sure eLiberty wouldn't mind you using his video name as the title and the video would make a great opening to any Ron Paul doc- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG2PUZoukfA

-Stop Dreaming For the same reasons as above this is a video by aravoth that we have all seen and everyone who hasn't should. You Tube was a valuable tool for us in the beginning

-The Second Great Tea Party- referring of course to the fundraiser that thrust us into the MSM's "can't completely ignore anymore" category

-Brains, Blimps Bull-horns, and moneyBombs - I love alliteration arrange the words any which way.

-An Idea Whose Time is Coming

I would suggest using Ron Paul's name if you are primarily wanting supporters to watch. But I think using words that include more people like America, Freedom, USA, etc. in it could grab a broader audience. Totally depends on what angle you are taking... For instance, some successful docs use more generic catchy names to broaden the audience, like Fahrenheit 911 (instead of One Fat Man's Journey Into How Bad George W. Bush Is), or I.O.U.S.A (instead of A Fiscal Look Into America's National Debt Crisis) or Who Killed The Electric Car?, or Super Size Me, or more playful in tone like Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden? Not sure the tone of the film, but I'm guessing it will be pretty straight forward storytelling, not sarcastic or whimsical or light-hearted throughout.

With that said...

Damn you guys are killing me. Too many options. Hey but that's why I asked :) :)

Keep em coming.

He Has A Blimp: How Ron Paul's Neopatriot Revolution Changed America

+1

It may be useful, though, to appeal to former Obama supporters in the title (by the time the film is released, the Obama sheep will know they've been fleeced). I like "Real Change" for that reason or something along those lines. My creative side is missing today. :)

The torch of freedom

How Ron Paul sparked a tsunami of enthusiasm for the Thomas Jeffersonians of today.

Here are my ideas:

Ron Paul: From Spark of Freedom to Grassroots Revolution

Ron Paul: From Freedom Spark to Revolution Fire

Ron Paul: The Rock That Lit A Fire

I actually like the last one best. Its intriguing because it doesn't come straight out and tell you the contents. It almost draws you in.

Good Luck,

FF

Edit: Just thought of another one, "Ron Paul: The Rock Of Liberty Who Sparked A Grassroots Revolution." It's probably too long, oh well.

The torch of freedom

Good one. ;):D

For those who are saying this is the second revolution... there are some of us here who would beg to differ. This is the third american revolution.
The people and the states lost the second one.
