Grassroots Poll: Best way to target seniors!

Which option would be the best for improving Ron Paul's numbers with seniors?

  • Keep doing what we are doing

  • None of the above

Of all the choices listed, it is probably the most difficult to get off the ground, but I would start a super PAC devoted to Ron Paul for Senior citizens. I don't want to be negative, but there is a ceiling to the kind of support we can get through the grass roots. I don't see there really being any efforts from the grass roots in my area to target Senior Citizens, in fact we have our own plans and goals that we are working on, so to ask the grass root to change strategy can only be so successful. I think that as a grass roots the best we can do is to continue thinking about baby boomers and seniors, so that we at least can hone our messaging skills toward them. But if there was a way to target Seniors specifically, putting a PAC together and donating to them would be the best approach. Since Seniors get their information from print and television, using the PAC to target these markets would be a good route.

We could also try to collaborate with one of the big Liberty PACS like Santa Rita on producing a hard-hitting ad or infomercial.

To win the treasure, you must face the dragon.

You reach GOP seniors by going on the evening shows of Fox News. Ron doesn't want to do that, but that's where these seniors get their news. GOP seniors aren't on YouTube; and they aren't watching the other news networks, because they consider those networks "biased liberals."

I get why Ron doesn't want to go on O'Reilly, Hannity, and Greta... but he must confront the dragon if he wants the treasures that are guarded there. If Ron gets attacked on those shows, it will still help win new supporters; because it will expose the bias of the hosts to more people. He's just got to go on, be a gentleman, but stand his ground and correct the record.

It takes a lot of time and effort to change an older persons mind. We already dominate the younger demographic, but the problem is they don't get out to vote. I think are time would be spent more efficiently making sure the kids vote, busing them to the polls/caucus, then trying to convince grandma RP's foreign policy is sound and he's not going to steal their social security.

The economic argument of liberty needs to be written in such a way as to appeal to seniors' interests. It can be done, it's not actually all that hard, but it really hasn't gotten out there clearly. If I knew someone in the campaign would read it and consider using it, I'd write it.

Ron Paul brings some very interesting truth to light. Do what Ron Paul has done. Understand the source, and promote the solution. Sound Money. Sound money, fully redeemable is what everyone who believes in freedom should be working for.

Almost everyone is promoting political ideas. That won't work. Liberty comes from honest sound money and rule of law. Understand it and promote it.

Simply put, and it has already been addressed in this thread, is that it is not the message that is turning these voters off-- it's the media.

They are the television generation. Get the message to them unadulterated and unframed and they will listen.
The sticking point will be the war on drugs... This is what other campaigns have been using against Paul when speaking to the older voters.
