A. He sounded a little too "dovish" for lack of a better word on his very last answer, but other than that an amazing performance. A CNN analyst even thought so, for the first time I can remember

A; best debate of the election cycle. Flawless except one of the last few answers he stumbled.

yeah, that last answer made me cringe but other than that I believe he did (in the words of Larry David) PRETTY, PRETTY, PRETTY, PRETTY..... good!

A solid "A". This was his most impressive performance. He had a good deal of speaking time and he did not choke under pressure. He shined. His best debate truly and he did it with the chance to answer a handful of questions.

A

Dr. Paul's best debate of the campaign. He's finally starting to draw the line in the sand. Everyone else = more of the same. He is the only candidate of substance.

Maybe a B. Lots of stuttering, but he got some time and he made some great points. The response seemed to be pretty positive.

A for the most part, C for the last couple of questions, so B overall.

A, he was feisty and pushed back, I think the campaign has sensed that now is the time to push

Paul's best answer that the cuts won't happen, they will be cuts in increases and so on was fantastic. Paul was likely 100% on the money with that answer. However, since all of the other candidates and the MSM and the Democrats aren't telling the truth on that issue, I don't think most people really understood Paul's answer.

I think Newt had what appeared to be a good point about Timothy McVeigh, because Timothy was a terrorist and did kill lots of people.

Calling for medical marijuana was great but saying end the war on drugs when not even asked out it may have been a mistake.

At the very end when Ron Paul was talking about Al-Qaeda, he could have worded it better. That may slightly hurt him with some conservatives, at least for a week or so.

However, Newt sounded like he was calling for complete amnesty. Newt, Rick P. and Mitt all sounded like they wanted to start war in at least one nation, which may hurt them. Herman and Rick S. completely misspoke a couple of times. However, Newt and Rick P. did talk about strengthening the Patriot Act which is likely an overwhelmingly popular position with many Republican voters, sadly.

Overall, I don't think the debate really helped anyone. It is clear that Newt and Mitt are very hawkish, likely more so than Bush even. It's sad how out of step I am with the so called top candidates in national polls.

BTW, I noticed that when one of the candidates, I think it was Newt, first entered the room, there was some booing. It seemed to be the strongest booing of the night.

He should have pointed that out that none of the others have proposed any comparable plans to cut and balance the budget like his would in his first term and he should have reminded everyone that the president is not king under the constitution and that all those "what would you do" questions were irrelevant if they wanted to obey the rule of law.

The questions he got I thought were't particularly negative given the debate theme and I thought he got a fair amount although he didn't get like 5 rebuttals he should have gotten. And I thought his answers very pretty good to almost all question, not only on the substance but also in his voice pitch and speed, especially the first few I thought he answered rather eloquently.

His thoughts flowed to words better than usual. I think he did great.

wheres the grade?

anyway, i agree that the drug war, medical MJ, and the last answer were probably not the best answers strategically, but quoting wolfowitz was priceless. Ron also clearly presented himself as the candidate of budget cuts. Which is what this election is about!
