"I proudly endorse him for both the special election and the general election and look forward to working with him to continue our Michigan comeback and put the country on a path to recovery. Now is the time for us to unite," Snyder said in the press release.

Also, a Cassis supporter posted on Kerry's facebook page that he will support him:

James Piper: As a Cassis supporter, you have my vote. We need to hold on to that seat.

Unfortunately, in this article...some Cassis supporters have said they will vote for Taj over Bentivolio: http://northville.patch.com/article...ory-in-michigan-11th-district-republican-race

I hope the Governor's endorsement helps convince the Cassis supporters to vote Bentivolio this November and not Taj.

BENTIVOLIO 2012!

Won't matter plus they're obviously not opposed to Obamacare. It will only be the fringe insiders that won't vote for the GOP nominee. The Taj folk by and large looked down on Cassis and what her supporters were up to in this race. Not saying they wouldn't welcome their support but would really have nothing in common with them. It's like the diehard Bush people helping out in this instance yet the Taj progressives despise them.

This should help seal the deal. This is the best establishment endorsement other than Mitt Romney.

The cranky Cassis supporters are only a minority of a minorty (die-hard neocons). At worst they just won't vote for him. They're just angsty right now since they got "unexpectedly" spanked.

Great to hear! I hope his donations are rolling in... he sent out an email today too

That is really fantastic news. And so surprising, I mean the governor is just another moderate hack who is no friend of the liberty movement. But I guess that he just wants to save face and not make a fool of himself.

Up here in Detroit for a week and everyone has a very favorable opinion of Kerry from what I'm hearing. Going to be a rockstar

Why isn't he a friend of the "liberty movement"? If you're going to be that picky accepting friends in the political universe, you'll end up pretty alone.

Maybe he just sees Bentivolio as a preferable option to Taj. Which is consistent with the position of most Bentivolio's future voters. What was the % Paul got in this district in the primary? 10%?

This is what parties are for. I'd hope that if Snyder runs for re-election and wins the primary, Bentivolio endorses him in some form. Otherwise he has no business being a Republican congressman.
