I hope no one takes this the wrong way, as it's only a suggestion. If you can, work for yourself. That's what I decided to do the last time I was laid-off ( I was laid-off every year as I lived in a town with a half year economy).
Everyone here would hate depending on the government and supports self-sufficiency, right?
To me working for a boss ( who is often as inept as the government) means about as much freedom and satisfaction as depending on the government.
We are all individuals responsible for our own lives and circumstances. Full self-ownership is a great thing.
If you must have a job, see if you can do something on the side and/or work double time and save all your money so when you quit on your terms you have enough Gold saved up to live a long time and never even bother thinking about a job again.
