Got Laid off Today

I hope no one takes this the wrong way, as it's only a suggestion. If you can, work for yourself. That's what I decided to do the last time I was laid-off ( I was laid-off every year as I lived in a town with a half year economy).

Everyone here would hate depending on the government and supports self-sufficiency, right?

To me working for a boss ( who is often as inept as the government) means about as much freedom and satisfaction as depending on the government.

We are all individuals responsible for our own lives and circumstances. Full self-ownership is a great thing.

If you must have a job, see if you can do something on the side and/or work double time and save all your money so when you quit on your terms you have enough Gold saved up to live a long time and never even bother thinking about a job again.

I used to run a real estate office and was thinking of focusing on shortsales, reos but I still need to pay the bills..

Oh well... Chalk one more up to this Real Estate Depression...Our company involved in civil engineering and land development in Southern California has gone from 300 to half that amount in 1 year and may disappear entirely....

They have asked me to stay on part-time on contract - but I can see the writing on the wall...This gov't economic policies are leading to a debasement of our money, and comming soon, an economic inflationary depression.....

I may not be posting for a while - have to go find another job - wish me luck guys..

I apologize for any controversial threads..... I think most of you can see past them for my true intentions have been to always help the movement.. I've tried to figure out why I have been involved with this board off and on for so long and I think I've figured it out -

I don't know any of you in person but I consider all of you my brothers and sisters in liberty - thank you from the bottom of my heart - thank you for standing up for freedom, love, peace, the constitution and all the other ideals - many in this country have apparently forgotten - thank you for being there to the bitter end - Good Luck, God Bless!

Sorry to hear this... I know the Real Estate all too well... and the BANKS/MORTGAGE COMPANIES/REALTORS/US GOVERNMENT have been masking the Severity of this. You are absolutely right about it being a Depression now... I hear it from workers like you, and ANYTHING related towards the REAL ESTATE business.

We always welcome supporters who speak the truth, issues, concerns, ideas, comments, and views. It helps being Objective and Subjective... Thomas Jefferson said, "Question Everything"

Good Luck finding a job, but the Recession across the nation is making it difficult to find a related job quickly. So keep an eye open for anything...

George, you have been with us from the beginning and I don't care what anybody says about you, I know you are one of the best compatriots we have. I love you man. Don't give up. Come back here from time to time.

As a side note, if you think the economy is bad now, hold on to your ass, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Oh George...Previous criticisms aside...I am sorry to hear this, prayers going up. Remember when one door closes another will open. Now I understand where your agressive personality comes from. Capitilize on this! I used to be in real estate also...don't be afraid to leave your comfort zone.

As for the become your own boss deal, I whole heartedly agree. My dh works 2 jobs and we have a home business. Think outside the box....

(although on a tangent, there have always been booms and busts/corrections in the economy, that is what capitalism is. This kind of stuff (housing market bust) has been happening since the 1800's and even before that. That's just how capitalism is.)
