Wow

Seems I am witnessing the beginnings of media waking up. Maybe someone somewhere has seen something and decided to jump on the band wagon.

Just as Bill Maher is the bitch of his audience, so is media the bitch of popular opinion. In order to maintain ratings(advertising horsepower) they have no choice but to give the people what they want. They want Ron Paul.

Chris Mathews has been more critical of neo-cons recently.

A former Reagan speach writer has turned against the neo-cons...

The beginning of my own sense of separation from the Bush administration came in January 2005, when the president declared that it is now the policy of the United States to eradicate tyranny in the world, and that the survival of American liberty is dependent on the liberty of every other nation. This was at once so utopian and so aggressive that it shocked me. For others the beginning of distance might have been Katrina and the incompetence it revealed, or the depth of the mishandling and misjudgments of Iraq.

If the media silences Ron Paul on behalf of the GOP, the will die. They are not gonna do that though. They will continue to say he is out of touch with current politics. MSM is so bought and paid for.

I was wondering how long it would take Coulter to start talking about illegal immigration and start hammering on Bush.

Republican senators' support for the amnesty bill is the straw that broke the camel's back. Yes, the Republican party is being torn apart. It's about damn time some major changes were made. I know something has changed when even Hannity and Limbaugh are railing against Bush and the elites in the senate. Even writers like George Will, who has always been a Bushbot, is turning away from this moron.

I hope the republican party consumes itself, then I hope the democratic party is next. They are both bad for the country.

I just hope the american people wake up and reject the two party system and start electing people based on thier principals and Ideas, and willingness to uphold thier oath of office.

Agreed. The polarization has never been a good thing.

The Republican party started to fracture back in the 1960's.. that is when the libertarian party was started. they are the refugee camp of the old school republicans.

the Libertarian party was established in 1971, but yes for the most part you hit that on the button.

I don't buy it. What I've seen of the media in this country is that they are the bitch of the government - running and grabbing for subsidy and soft money wherever they can get it. They are secondarily the bitch of their market segment, but a wise CEO knows how to keep his priorities straight. Don't let pandering to your audience restrict your ability to get government loot.

Witness - all MSM in the USA ignoring big anti-government stories like the Downing Street letter. Witness - CNN playing to its liberal audience, but not so hard that it's critical of the administration.

I think that RP is gaining traction with liberal MSM like CNN because the more divided the repubs are, the better chance of a Dem president. And a Dem president means money in the coffer for CNN.

Personally, I don't care about their motives. If they happen to be supporting the honest, constitutional candidate, then I'm happy to have their support as long as it lasts. Just don't cry when the general election comes and CNN turns on RP (assuming he wins the primary of course).
