The former president, breaking an unusually long silence, called the Senate minority leader a “dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack” and called on Republicans in the chamber to find a new leader.

Former President Donald J. Trump on Tuesday made a slashing and lengthy attack on Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican minority leader, calling him a “dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack” and arguing that the party would suffer losses in the future if he remained in charge.
“If Republican senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again,” Mr. Trump said.
The 600-word statement, coming three days after the Senate acquitted him in his second impeachment trial, was trained solely on Mr. McConnell and sought to paint Mr. Trump as the best leader of the G.O.P. going forward.

My first instinct was to say hope you're wrong on this but after looking back at few recent Presidents since I started paying attention to politics, I fear you may be right partially at least... despite being excellent in couple of areas he was overall a so-so mixed bag Prez imo and may still be "the best" in recent memory.

System is disfunctional. Some in media call it 'democracy' but in practice functions more like a game of puppet-o-cracy where deep pockets find and groom their preferred political horses and then the winner ends up spending rest of his/her political career in a disgraceful dance of executing the agenda of financiers and enhancing personal political career with occasional good done for common man. But many of the times common man gets short end of the stick or gets screwed. This is a bad implementation of representative democratic system.
