For the first time since May, Google updated the publically available Google page rank algorithyms on the toolbar.

I'm very pleased to report that ronpaul2008.com is the only other Presidential candidate web site other than Mr. Osama to sport a Google Page Rank of 7 (Yes even Hitlery is only a PR 6). You may have noticed the recent addition of Google site links on the ronpaul2008.com listing when you Google his name - looks very Presidential I might add.

This is because of you and your efforts to link stories on Digg and blogs. Keep up the linking work people it's working. A Google page rank 7 site is a testament to the hard work of ALL OF YOU.

This is up from a page rank of 2 in the last update and blew through my prediction of a 6 for ronpaul2008.com.

If search engines are picking the winners - it's Osama vs Ron Paul in a landside.

Please feel free to use the Google Page Rank 7 data point in your validation arguments with those who say stupid stuff like "Ron can't win".

How do you check page rank at each data center like that? :)

This has an added benefit for the cause, as any of Dr. Paul's legislation or articles posted on the site, as well as his issues, will continue to appear higher in the Google search results. Capturing organic search traffic is a major part of any online campaign.

He needs to sell some links :P

I'd pay good money for a PR7 link from a prez candidate. Save the nofollow tags though ;)

I'd believe that if the ronpaul2008.com site was optimized properly. It isn't.

Start with the title tag on the site, it sucks major ass. It is currently this:
Ron Paul 2008 Hope for America

Nobody is searching for Hope for America (besides they have it in the graphic) and it's missing the critical keyword term President - also shorter titles are better than longer titles.
They should immediately change it to be this:
Ron Paul For President 2008 (some would argue the word Republican or candidate belongs there too)

The frames on the same main URL is a horrible waste of potential individual pages that could be indexed individually.

The navigation is clunky and the critical internal pages are not easily spidered.

The blog appears on multiple URLs - this is a major duplicate content problem that has multiple complex ramifications. blog.ronpaul2008.com should be the only one.

On Page SEO is important, but backlinks are the driving force behind traffic.

If you package up your suggestions in an approachable manner, why not email them in to Justine Lam?

Don't have her email address for one. Don't have a quorom of people here that agree this is important (and easy) to fix for the most part.

I agree that it is important to fix...

I do this professionally and I will volunteer to help the website with the titles. I'm no web designer, so I can't take out the frames, but I know some people here would probably do this as well. I may call the campaign and let them know I'm at their disposal.

What frames? I do not see any frames at all. Paul's site is done in php which is probably using includes (most likely). I think you are mistaken.

However, this is great news about the PR update giving Dr. Paul a boost with a PR7 rank, while Hillary is at 6. :)

dunno if it's frames or whatever - a bunch of pages have the smae url - that isn't good from a bot standpoint... :(

hey thanks for the link, that thing is useful just learned my blog is now PR2 within 4 months of being open...

I just used this argument with my mom and she said "what's a google?". j/k

Seriously though...I can kinda figure that this means that there's a lot of traffic to the site but what are the rankings, and how is a 7 compared to most sites?

page rank is not traffic - it's a measure of a page to google based on links, anchor text of links, age of domain, frequency, etc.

soem examples - a 7 is really, really good.
http://www.techcrunch.com/ is a PR7

digg.com, ask.com and chicagotribune.com are PR8

yahoo.com is PR9

google.com and mit.edu are PR10

Walt, think of it this way. Would Google really care whether or not if the url does or does not include the full domain name in the url structure/link? The answer is no, they don't. Why would they create a web crawler/spider which forgets what domain its on. It doesn't.

Essentially this is more of a accessibility issue, I can't really recall the exact scenarios it applies to, but I will take a look.

Its just if you think that's bad for SEO, you may want to notify Apple.com and ATT.com that their sites also aren't SEO optimized. ;)

just because one site sucks does not mean your's should.

all of those things should be seperate indexed pages that should result in landing for those keyword searches - right now it doesn't - remind me not to hire you to build one of my sites - I'd prefer 12 well indexed pages over 1 half ass one anyday.

I was under the impression you were talking about the internal linking structure of the site. Now I am confused, can you explain a little more in detail or refer to an article that sums up what you are saying?

It sounds like you are saying his site should be broken up into smaller sites, but I am curious to what you are saying. I am willing to learn, its just now I am completely lost as to where you are going.
