I can't make videos, I've tried and they are bad. But, I know a song that would make a brilliant video. So, I thought I would make this thread to lead the awesome video makers to the awesome songs.

16 Military Wives- The Decemberists. Listen to it and tell me what you think.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Mbhd4LGR-g

The lyrics....

Sixteen military wives
Thirty-two softly focused brightly colored eyes
Staring at the natural tan
Of thirty-two gently clenching wrinkled little hands
Seventeen company men
Out of which only twelve will make it back again
Seargeant sent a letter to five
Military wives, his tears drip down to ten little eyes

Cheer them on to their rivals
Cause America can, and America can't say no
And America does, if America says it's so
It's so

And the anchorperson on TV goes...
La de da de da

Fifteen celebrity mimes
Leaving their fifteen sorted wretched checkered lives
Will they find the solution in time
Using their fifteen pristine moderate liberal minds?

Eighteen academy chairs
Out of which only seven really even care
Doling out a garment to five
Celebrity mimes, they're humbly taken by surprise

Cheer them on to their rivals
Cause America can, and America can't say no
And America does, if America says it's so
It's so

And the anchorperson on TV goes...
La de da de da de-dadedade-da
La de da de da de-dadedade-da

Fourteen cannibal kings
Wondering blithely what the dinner bell will bring
Fifteen celebrity mimes
Served on a leafy bed of sixteen military wives

Cheer them on to their rivals
Cause America can, and America can't say no
And America does, if America says it's so
It's so

And the anchorperson on TV goes...
La de da de da de-dadedade-da
La de da de da de-dadedade-da

A great background song for a video is called Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan. It was a song in the Matrix and V for Vendetta.

THIS IS MY PICK FOR HIS VICTORY SONG,,,,,,,,,,,,and everyone will be dancing in the streets around the world

Martha And The Vandellas Dancing In The Streets Lyrics

Callin' out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat

Summer's here and the time is right
For dancing in the street
They're dancing in Chicago(chicago echo)
Down in New Orleans(down in New Orleans echo)
Up in New York City
All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swingin' and swayin' and records playing and
Dancing in the street

Oh it doesn't matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
I want ev'ry guy to grab a girl
Ev'rywhere around the world
They'll be dancing, dancing in the street

It's an invitation across the nation
A chance for folks to meet

There'll be laughing, and singing, and music swinging
and Dancing in the street
Philadelphia, PA
Baltimore and D.C. now
Can't forget the Motor City
All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swingin' and and swayin', and records playing
and dancing in the street

Oh it doesn't matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
I want to ev'ry guy grab a girl
Ev'rywhere around the world

Ther'll be dancing,
dancing in the street
Way down in L.A.
Every day
Dancing in the street

Lennon/McCartney)

You say you want a revolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be alright
Alright Alright

You say you got a real solution
Well you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be alright
Alright Alright

You say you'll change the constitution
Well you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well you know
You better free your mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know know it's gonna be alright
Alright Alright

Throwing Sones...by the Grateful Dead......

Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
Dizzy with eternity.
Paint it with a skin of sky, brush in some clouds and sea
Call it home for you and me.
A peaceful place or so it looks from space
A closer look reveals the human race.
Full of hope, full of grace, is the human face.
But afraid, we may all go to waste.
Theres a fear down here we cant forget hasnt got a name just yet
Always awake, always around singing ashes to ashes all fall down.
Now watch as the ball revolves and the nighttime calls
And again the hunt begins and again the bloodwind calls
By and by again, the morning sun will rise
But the darkness never goes from some mens eyes.
It strolls the sidewalks and it rolls the streets
Stalking turf, dividing up meat.
Nightmare spook, piece of meat, it's you and me, you and me.
Click, flashblade in ghetto night. rudy's looking for a fight.
Rat cat alley roll them bones. need that cash to feed that jones
And the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes all fall down.
Commissars and pin-striped bosses role the dice
Any way they fall guess who gets to pay the price.
Money green or proletarian gray, selling guns instead of food today.
So the kids they dance, they shake their bones
While the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes all fall down.
Heartless powers try to tell us what to think
If the spirits sleeping, then the flesh is ink.
Historys page, it is thusly carved in stone
The futures here, we are it, we are on our own.
If the game is lost then were all the same
No one left to place or take the blame.
We will leave this place an empty stone
Or this shinning ball of blue we can call our home
So the kids they dance, they shake their bones
While the politicians are throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes all fall down.
Shipping powders back and forth
Singing black goes south while white comes north
And the whole world full of petty wars
Singing I got mine and you got yours.
And the current fashions set the pace.
Lose your step, fall out of grace.
And the radical he rant and rage, singing someone got to turn the page
And the rich man in his summer home,
Singing just leave well enough alone
But his pants are down, his covers blown
And the politicians are throwing stones
So the kids they dance they shake their bones
Cause its all too clear were on our own
Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
Its dizzying, the possibilities. ashes, ashes all fall down

Redemption Song Bob Marley

Old pirates, yes, they rob I,
Sold I to the merchant ships.
Minutes after they took I,
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong,
By the hand of the All Mighty.
We forward in this generation,
Triumphantly.

Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom ?
'Cause all I ever had,
Redemption songs,
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery,
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Some say it's just a part of it,
We've got to fullfil de book.

So won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever had,
Redemption songs,
Redemption songs,
Redemption songs.

I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty

Well I won't back down, no I won't back down
You can stand me up at the gates of hell
But I won't back down

Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground and I won't back down

Well I know what's right, I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around
But I stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground and I won't back down
No I won't back down.

Straight Ahead by Jimi Hendrix

Hello, my friend
So happy to see you again
I was so alone
All by my self
I just couldn’t make it

Have you heard, baby
What the winds blowing round
Have you heard, baby
A whole lot of peoples coming right on down

Communication, yeah
Is coming on strong
And don’t give a damn, baby
If your hair is short or long, huh

I said, get out of your grave
Everybody is dancing in the street
Do what you know, don’t be slow
You gotta practice what you preach
’cause it’s time for you and me
Come to face reality

Forget about the past, baby
Things ain’t what they used to be
Keep on straight ahead
Keep on straight ahead

Straight ahead, baby
Straight ahead, baby

We got to stand side by side
We got to stand together and organize
They say power to the people,
That’s what they’re screamin’
Freedom of the soul
Pass it on, pass it on to the young and old

You got to tell the children the truth
They don’t need a whole lot of lies
Because one of these days, baby
They’ll be running things
So when you give them love
You better give it right
Woman and child and man and wife
The best love to have is the love of life

Pushing on straight ahead
Straight ahead, baby

Hello my friend
It’s so good to see you again
And I’ve been all by myself
I don’t think I can make it alone
I gotta keep on pushing ahead

JOHN MAYER LYRICS

"Waiting On The World To Change"

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could

Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want

That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's not that we don't care,
We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

And we're still waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

“Help US Ron” – to the tune of the Beach Boys “Help me Rhonda”

Since we’ve been goin’ down, I’ve been feel-in’ so much dread
The Constitutions shot; and our country’s in a sea of red

Well, Ron you sound so fine (sound so fine)
And we know it’s gonna take some time
For you to help us Ron
Help us take our country back

Help us Ron

Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron yeah
Take our country back

We’ve lost our way of life
The Constitutions blowin’ in the sand
The people in the whitehouse
Care only for the global plan

Well, Ron you caught our eye (caught our eye)
And we can give you lotsa reasons why
You gotta help us Ron
Help us take our country back

Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron yeah
Take our country back

Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron

Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron
Help us Ron
Help, help us Ron

The Power of Love by Huey Lewis(and the News?)

This song is uplifting, positive and inspiring. I heard it a few days ago and Ron Paul popped into my head. It was cool.

Micheal Franti and Spearhead have been making some great antiwar/antigovernment songs for a while. Most of them were in support of a movie Franti made in Irag/Israel/Gaza called "I know I'm not alone." This movie was instrumental in changing my opinion about the war. I have contacted him about Ron Paul and if he would mind his songs being used in Pro Ron Paul videos, but no response yet.

I am working on a video now using the song "Yell Fire" but I think "I know I'm not alone" or "time to go home" will be next.

check out the songs on his myspace. Especially Yell Fire

A revolution never come with a warning
A revolution never sends you an omen
A revolution just arrived like the morning
Ring the alarm we come to wake up the snoring

They tellin' you to never worry about the future
They tellin' you to never worry about the torture
They tellin' you that you'll never see the horror
Spend it all today and we will bill you tomorrow
Three piece suits and bank accounts in Bahamas
Wall street crime will never send you to the slammer
Tell all the children in the arms of their mammas
The F-15 is a homocide bomber

TV commercials for a popping pill culture
Drug companies circling like a vulture
AmerIraqi babies with a G.I. Joe father
Ten years from now is anybody gonna bother?

Yell Fire, yo, yo, yo
Here we come here we come
Fire, yo, yo , yo, yo
Revolution a comin'
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo

Everyone addicted to the same nicotine
Everyone addicted to the same gasoline
Everyone addicted to a technicolour screen
Everybody tryin' to get their hands on the same green
From the banks of the river to the banks of the greedy
All of the riches taken back by the needy
We come from the country and we come from the city
You play us on the record, you can play us on the CD

All the shit you've given us is fertilizer
The seeds that we planted you can never brutalize them
Tell the corporation they can never globalize it
Like Peter Tosh said Legalize it

Girls and boys hear the bass and treble
Rumble in the speakers and it make you wanna rebel
Throw your hands up, take it to another level
And you can never, ever, ever make a deal with the devil

Yell Fire, yo, yo, yo
Here we come here we come
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Revolution a comin'
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo

Fight or Flight by Face to Face

We're ready to go
Ticking like a bomb that's about to blow
It's taking control
Pulling at your feet like an undertow
You don't really know
If you're all that capable
But you've been told
Figure it out
Don't pretend you're stupid
Sort it out
Go make yourself useful

You're better than dead
You really made a mess with the words you said
So easily fed
The flames of the fire rise above your head
They want to be led
You've joined the ranks instead
There's a voice in your head

I can't figure it out
Any more than the generation before me
I can't figure it out
How we got where we are today
I can't figure it out
Any more than the generation before me
I can't figure it out
We've got to fight not to fade away

Some music I wrote for a Video

I was pretty much terrified of copyright infringement, so I did the best I could and developed a tune in Buzz Tracker which became the background music for my first YouTube video on how I build banners for my truck.

It's not that great, but it's free for any RP supported to use if they want it.

My pick -- Jesus Jones:

RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW

A woman on the radio talked about revolution
when it's already passed her by
Bob Dylan didn't have this to sing about you
you know it feels good to be alive

I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
there is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
watching the world wake up from history

I saw the decade in, when it seemed
the world could change at the blink of an eye
And if anything
then there's your sign... of the times

I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now

I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
there is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
watching the world wake up from history

Right here, right now
there is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
watching the world wake up from history

Right here, right now
there is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
watching the world wake up...
