Is there any kind of interest bearing asset similar to a bond which is paid in gold or silver?

Just wondering, because if there were, I would so jump on that right now.

I lol'd.

But seriously, I have never heard of such a thing. Most people sadly don't think of gold or silver as money, certainly not the types of people who issue bonds.

Dunno. I was thinking that maybe mining companies could issue bonds in whatever they mine.

aren't ETF and futures just that?

No. An ETF is paper, and futures are promises for future (one time) delivery. A bond would entail multiple payments throughout the life of the bond in addition to a repayment of principle at the end (probably in fiat money rather than gold, if that is what you paid).

I've heard some mining companies used to have these, paid interest, backed some way by gold. Maybe back when interest rates were very high. Haven't heard of anything like that currently. Interest rates are so low and PMs expected to run, there's no point now.

Would be nice if they still existed tho.
