Going Off-Grid Again

This time to Hawaii...

At least for the first week. I have some friends on the Big Island with an off-grid shack they're letting me stay in. Then, heading to Kauai for the second week at a more traditional Air-B-n-B. I'm going to try to avoid all news of the outside world, but not sure how easy that'll be this time. (Alaska was super easy since I only ran into a few people the whole time)

Anyway, I'll be out for a while - don't let the mainland fall apart until I get back! Interested to see what will happen in my absence this time, but NOTHING will surprise me!

Ok, just got back.

Had a great time visiting with friends on the Big Island, then a week on Kauai. Packed a ton into a couple weeks - Mauna Kea, Kilauea, ziplining, tubing, swam with manta rays, kayaked 4 miles then hiked 3 to a hidden waterfall, rode a horse to another one, took a doors-off helicopter ride around Kauai, swam with sea turtles, snorkeled over tropical fish and coral, explored a cave, did a ton of hiking through rainforests and canyons, and ate a ton of Hawaiian food. And now I'm back.

I was able to avoid all news in the past two weeks, but I see that the media is still running with Kamala (for now) and that she picked a VP candidate. Also saw some trans Olympics stuff. Any other big news I missed? The power still seems to be working here, which is nice.

The media is making Kamala's crowds look bigger with photoshop and/or AI. Trump's veep doesn't look any better in a dress than 9iu11ani did.

No it isn't.

There's a photo with the airplane in it where the crowd was moved with photoshop. It gives the pic slightly better composition, but reflections in the engine nacelle give it away. It was probably really done to distract people from a previous pic from a big arena. They literally hung green screens in front of the upper tier, which they knew they wouldn't fill. Later views-as-news outlets ran a pic in which the upper tier is "full" (and if you look closely you realize it's segregated seating for mutants). The second, merely photoshopped pic with the plane was easily "debunked" -- same crowd, just slightly relocated. Thus low-info voters will assume the earlier full AI Mutant Convention pic was debunked too.

Meanwhile, they aren't embarrassing her by booking arenas for her any more. They're happy if she makes an airplane hangar look full.

Served 24 years in the National Guard, before abandoning his crew right before deployment to Iraq - which isn't the WORST thing in the entire world, except now he goes around claiming that people shouldn't own "weapons of war" which he said he "used in war" (never fought in war.. deployed to Italy for a short time), he claims he was an E-9 command sergeant major, the highest enlisted rank. But his retirement papers put him one step lower – a master sergeant, because he didn't complete everything needed before quitting. There is also some confusion, some stating that when retired, since he skipped on deployment, he was actually demoted to an E-8, which isn't even a master sergeant, but either way he did not retire or complete the rank he claims. There are countless videos where he claims that was his rank. His "Challenge Coin" has a picture of that rank he did not attain. There is also a video of him talking about soldiers coming home with PTSD, then he immediately follows it with "when we came back from Bagram in Iraq" - Bagram is in Afghanistan, he went to Bagram once, but it was for a political visit after he retired from the military..

So he is accused of stolen valor, and just generally lying and being slimy about describing his service.
