Go Raw Now

You are a smart man kevlar, raw foodists are wise people, and to be a Ron Paul supporter as well..

I think the raw food diet is great if you stick to it and make sure you supplement what nutrients you are not getting as well as get exercise.

The only problem with raw food diets is that you have to be very careful where you are getting all your vegetables and fruit. Not everyone has easy access to organically grown foods and they tend to be more expensive.

The best way to combat this is to simply grow your own. I've been looking into growing my own vegetables, at least, for some time now. There are products like the aerogarden which seem to be great but is on such small scale.

Ron Paul eats processed foods, so they must be good.

Mmmmm.... Chocolate chip cookies.

Recipe for Raw Food Fad:

2 parts Paranoia
3 parts gullible
1 part desperate
1 part "ooh, shiny!"

i eat mostly aw food, and of course that does not include eating animals, which, at the least is very wierd.
i do lightly steam broccolli, and now and then i eat some of the rice or lentils i cooked for the dogs(who eat eggs and fish too), but for the most part, i eat only veg and a little fruit, all raw. this is not a fad, it is how to stay alive and healthy.
everyone shpuld at least try this for a month or so before making fun of it. there is a tremendous amount of energy to be had this way, and the acidity which animal product eating had produced(organic or not) will start to go away, leaving you less suceptible to such things as cancer, arthritis, etc.

acidity?

This is why do not "eat raw."

I have been looking this over for several months now and one problem I have is that I am worried that I will not get a balanced diet. I am afraid that it may be to hard to evenout the vitamins I need.

Some input would be helpful like a website that helps plan meals to get you started or something. Maybe even someone to help show me how to start and get on the right track would be good.

if you mean you do not eat raw to avoid acidity, i will guess thatyour digestion is poor due to eating other things, and if ou continue eating raw veg and some fruit, the enzymes in those will improve your digestion. that is, it sounded like you are trying to avoid acid indigestion, which is caused by what you presently eat.
lemons tomatos and grapefruit are the best alkalizing fruits, and do not cause acidity in the system, as most think they would.

acid thoughts are acidifing as well, which is how those can cause illness.

I don't eat raw, or any other fad diet trend thingy, because I prefer not to associate with bad science.

I watched that video that was posted, and I am dumber for it. Watching a bleach blond motivational speaker talk about all sorts of weird food "facts" does not make me a convert.

this is most people's worry before they begin to eat properly, and that is due to misinformation (from the old media again), so go to amazon or somewhere and get a book called sick and tired by young.
also get books by kaufmann, such a the germ that causes cancer, not for the diet, but as inspiration to avoid the cancer causing foods and etc.
anyway the young book has some good info on the whole food and health thing, and a very useful long list in back of what to eat and what not to, including a list of mycotoxin containing foods to avoid.
young has a website, www.phmiracleliving.com
kaufmann has one too, www.knowthecause.com

remember that huge strong animals like elephants only eat veg, and then feel better about the protien thing. there is a lot of protien in veg. all the aminos and vitamins and mineals you need
personally, i am tying to figure out the B-12 thing, and still take a supplment of methylcobalamin, or methyl B-12 now and then.

I often wonder what raw food / anti-meat / vegan fan-boys think humans ate for thousands of years as our staple and why they think it so 'strange' to eat an animal.

There's a jolly good reason why cooked meat smells absolutely delicious - especially when you're outside and amongst nature.

Humans evolved eating a diet of meat and various fruits and carb sources - why some people are attracted to the extremes of 'raw only' 'meat only' 'fruit only' 'veg only' diets baffles me much the same as some folk are attracted to cults or strange beliefs.

Everyone wants to believe in something, I guess. Trouble is, when you buy in to it and start preaching about the nonsense from some false bleached-haired steroid user those with a level-head might shoot you down.

Not that you would accept the truth, though...

I'm not questioning that it is a good diet because it is. I am just concerned that I will get too much of one thing and not enough of something else.

Is there a book out there that has a list of foods and their nutritional value.

I like meat. Matter fact my gf tells me all the time that I feed her to much meat. (Get your mind out of the gutter.) But I realize the protein can come from eggs and peanuts also. Therefore you don't always have to eat meat all the time.

We're meat eaters primarily so eat your darn meat and don't exclude it from your life.

Few things compare to the taste and smell of cooked meats. That's your brain telling you to eat it 'cos it knows what's good for you. End of story.
