.45 LC is hard to come by as well. At least on standard 9 it is relatively easy to come by. After a few hundred rounds it doesn't really matter, if it's simply a self-defense sort of gun it doesn't really matter. In that caliber I would take the .38 super,, though I prefer the .45.
I've probably said something or more about the .40 but I do not like the 9 and the .45 ACP is snappy depending the package. It's an excellent round for my needs. And the kicker is you can find it most anywhere.
