Global No War with Syria Rallies This Saturday

The protests in Canada seem to be dominated by left wing groups. The US protests seem better, though. I might go to the one in Seattle.

Update:

Dont Attack Syria Demo August 31 London

Looks like the UK protests are being spearheaded by the left. The anti-war right seems to be pretty weak in a lot of countries other than the US. I wish UKIP or other groups like them would rally in opposition to intervention in Syria.

You seem a bit fixated on that false Left/Right fallacy.

These were featured on one of the MSM nightly news outlets while I was flipping through so someone took notice.

Wikipedia says Stop The War Coalition is a front organization of the far-left revolutionary Socialist Workers Party and includes the Communist Party of Britain and the Communist Party of Great Britain. These guys make American progressives like Kucinich seem tame.

I would not feel comfortable working alongside these radical groups even when I do agree with them, I expect you feel a different way on this.

Luckily, Glenn Beck has encouraged his large base of Tea Party conservatives to protest the intervention in Syria in the US. I imagine that is not the case elsewhere.

A small slideshow of some of the protests around the world here.

Why are these among the ten whole pictures of protesters rallying against military action? The captions to each are below.

Irbil, Iraq: Syrian refugees at a UNHCR camp in Qushtepa park

Obama-reaction-005.jpg

Washington DC: Barack Obama meets his national security staff at the White House

Jordan-reaction-010.jpg

Amman, Jordan: Protesters burn US and Israeli flags in front of the US embassy

True to form, this flag burning picture was the first pic of the slideshow. Nothing like showing brown people burning US flags to really set the tone for what these rallies were really trying to say.

The media is showing their true colors in this one for sure.

At our rally at least 30% of the protesters were wearing tea party shirts. Of course, that doesn't fit their narrative for the tea party, so they'll just conveniently leave that out!

It's astonishing how I'm posting this picture from the protest and I'm getting all kinds of Republican and Tea support. Oh I am under no illusions that if it were Mitt Romney how it would be different, but just to see hard-core Tea people actually enthusiastic about an anti-war protest is a bit astonishing. :D
