Glenn Beck-Thanks for the great interview

The interview went pretty much as I thought it would. Glenn was fair, relatively low key, and hit all the points that I figured he would hit. It wasn't a premeditated hit job. Glenn had his concerns and he let Paul address them. In fact I think Glenn was practically lobbing him softballs and he knew it.

The forum reactions are also equally predictable. People who hated Beck with the white hot intensity of a thousands suns are now kissing his ass and hailing him as a credible journalist. Others saw a smear piece destroyed by Dr. Paul's overwhelming wisdom, reading malice in every word out of Beck's mouth because that's what they want to hear. When the media starts being nice to Paul, these are the people who will lose interest just like when their favorite underground band makes it big and it's no longer cool to like them.

Unfortunately? Based on what I'm reading around here, this is practically an hour-long infomercial that clears the air over a lot of controversies surrounding the campaign.

I'll have to decide for myself once someone gets it online, of course, but if it's as good as a lot of supporters are saying, this is effectively three hours of free advertising.

I think Beck is a schmuck and this one session does not absolve him of previous obsequiousness and bootlickings. That being said, this was a pretty fair interview for Ron. I guarantee you that Becks sponsors got a shitload of incensed mail from many veterans, if the few scathing ones i came across here and there at the time of the Horowitz brouhaha are any indication. So..was Beck remorseful and wanting to set things right soulwise or was he armtwisted into responsible media behavior by his advertisers.. Time will tell the tale.

Best Regards
Randy

In another post here someone claimed to have listened to the Glenn Beck show today - where in the last 15 minutes Glenn explained that he had Ron on so he [Ron] could further alienate himself by showing how absurd his position on Israel was. I have no idea how accurate that report is (looking for the link now) - but your thank you drive might be a bit premature.

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showpost.php?p=666192&postcount=70 - found the post, again, no idea of the veracity but I think Beck shows get released on podcast the next day.
