According to Dallas Observer Blogs “Earlier this week, Glenn Beck announced that he was reinventing The Blaze, his online media property, as a global libertarian news network, complete with three foreign bureaus, a nightly news magazine, and, no doubt, lots of Beck himself.

Last night Beck announced on The Blaze the next stage of his full-bodied embrace of libertarianism, which seems to be a massive commune inspired by “Galt’s Gulch,” Ayn Rand’s utopian community in Atlas Shrugged.” See more here:

According to Kyle Mantyla of Right Wing Watch Glenn Beck intends to “go Galt” with a new effort called “The American Dream Labs” which he is building with the intention of revolutionizing everything from technology to education to agriculture to entertainment and even creating new forms of energy.

On his program last night, Beck revealed that his intention to “go Galt” is quite literal, unveiling grandiose plans to create an entirely self-sustaining community called Independence Park that will provide its own food and energy, produce television and film content, host research and development, serve as a marketplace for products and ideas, while also housing a theme park and serving as a residential community.

Galt's Gulch was a community unto itself. I guarantee you that whatever bastardized version Beck comes up with it will be entirely in line with every single one of the state's edicts, but ESPECIALLY those with which Glenn himself gives particular sanction.

Glenn Beck wouldn't know a libertarian if he tripped over one.

I think it might be interesting to figure out when he started liking Ayn Rand. I'm sure if we dig we can find him bashing her around the time of his Ronslaught.

People like him are dangerous to our movement. They pretend they are libertarians. In the end It will only give our movement a bad name when this hack city falls apart or is the same like any other community.

Though I would support a real libertarian community somewhere just not this one.

ME TOO!

This is nothing but a repeat of him co-opting the Ron Paul Tea Party movement!! With this past election, he sees how the GOP is going down the tubes and that maybe, some Republican voters are waking up to Ron Paul's views. (Just like the point we were at with the Ron Paul Tea Party. It was beginning to build momentum and then Beck and Faux News steered the sheeple toward the GOP establishment).

So now, he wants to cash in on the momentum of Libertarianism. He probably sees it as the next direction over the GOP, and will once again steer those same Tea Party people who are for limited govt. but foreign wars. Then he will no doubt start influencing them to support GOP establishment candidates by claiming they are Libertarian! Ugh!!! Once again, our message of NO foreign entanglements and protection of our civil liberties will be LOST. Beck's a boil on the butt of humanity.
