Glenn Beck on CNN debate

I just wanna say: I support Ron Paul, and I believe in global warming. Believe the earth is getting hotter or not, you have to realize that all the pollutants in the air aren't good for you or the earth.

No one likes pollution. But the stated 'remedies' exacerbate the issue by sending industry to places like China where industry is dirtier. That is a fair hint that this is about redistribution of wealth, not the environment.

It's absolutely incredible. These people will express their concerns over Ahmedinejad's apocalyptic beliefs in a 12th imam, and then will actually say in the same sentence, "we can't turn our backs on Israel because we're living in the end times and god will turn his back on us if we do."

Is anyone else here overwhelmed by the irony of the previous sentence? How can people be so oblivious to the ridiculous nature of their own beliefs?

I live in North Carolina, in the heart of the Bible belt, and I know how you feel. When this kind of crap bubbles up, it feels like you're banging your head against a brick wall. At that point, trying to poke holes in the warped belief system or even pointing out how similar it is to what they're afraid of is nothing more than attacking that person's identity (to them), so you might as well not even waste your time.

Your only two choices are 1.) give up and move on to the next undecided voter or 2.) try floating the idea that binding Israel's hands with foreign aid and telling them when they can and can't defend their borders isn't actually "supporting" Israel, but rather infringing on their sovereignty.

Trying to talk them out of the dispensationalist misinterpretation of Revelations they've internalized and become emotionally attached to isn't going to work, they'll just plug their ears and chalk everything you're saying up to hot air from an unbeliever.

I just went and bought 10 gal. of 110 octane LEADED racing fuel for my BOSS 302 Mustang. I have a woodstove, i burn cardboard, and i dump used motor oil in my driveway. The air around my neighborhood is crystal clear today. I can see the mountains from my backyard, and i don't have lung cancer. I'm 60 YO.

I said to myself...self..i wonder how much pollution our military spews on a daily basis....

meh...global warming....is BS. We're going to get below freezing in a few more days here in Seattle. Its winter...go figure.

From a fellow Citizen in Seattle...come on now. Saying that marginal temperatures of the earth aren't trending up every year (as is scientifically and historically proven) just because it is getting cold in the Northwest in the winter, is like saying that mountains aren't formed by millions of years of geological phenomena because you don't see new ones popping up. The debate these days isn't if "Global Warming" exists...it is whether it is man-made or not. Temperatures have trended up or down all over the world even within the realms of recorded human history. This isn't something just 'made up'. [/rant]

Has any scientific investigations been done to include Earths molten core into the global warming equation?...seems this would be a factor. As far as man causing global warming?...no proof.

And lets not forget sun activity.

The Pacific Northwest had its coldest spring in recorded history this year.

How have you all seen this clip without anyone mentioning the show that it was on, or posting a youtube, or are we just going on a worm rant? Or is it just not noteworthy enough to post, or no one has uploaded it? I don't see how anyone could have searched for this clip with the lack of information about it in this thread.

I know my bible and NOWHERE does it say that once Israel comes back into their country will they EVER AGAIN be destroyed. NOWHERE does it say that the United States is her protector. In fact, all through the bible it says that God and God alone is her protector. So to apply to anything or anyone the attributes of God is blasphemy therefore since God says that He is the protector of Israel to say or even imply that Israel would be destroyed without the USA is blasphemy.

Go tell your bible thumping friends THAT and see what they say. If anything Ron Paul is God's and Isreal's man in the White House

All you global warming deniers: There is an almost 90% correlation between CO2 emissions and the temperature of the earth. Global warming, the theory that CO2, bonds with oxygen in the ozone is one possible explanation. It could also be a lurking variable that affects both temperature and CO2 emissions or the effect could be opposite. However, to say that global warming is a conspiracy is ridiculous.

if anything global warming benefits plants and growing! more co2 is good and no need for co2 kits for growers!

We're all on board with the MSM being completely biased and run for profit. We acknowledge that when their stated goal is to maximize their profits, often by setting any this versus that debate -- republicans versus democrats, etc... and that they hate our guy because he doesn't serve any of their interests. How can you not see that this correlates exactly to other issues as well? They take a scientist who says "duh, global warming is real and duh, human activity contributes to it" and give them equal air time to someone who represents less than 1% of the scientific community, often people in completely non-environmental fields who says "Nut uh, global warming is a natural thing and we have nothing to worry about!"

The entire debate is a distraction and ridiculous. Oil companies fund politics like everybody else. I guarantee as soon as they get a monopoly on non-fossil fuel driven cars the story will change. It is in everyone's best interest to use renewable energy sources, though as a liberty supporter I think it should be our choice to do so. That doesn't really change the fact that what we do has an effect, maybe it's a small one, maybe not. Doesn't really matter at this point.

"Global Warming" does not mean "everything is getting hotter". It means the climate is changing in a potentially disastrous way. It could start a new ice age pre-maturely. It could cause record high temperatures and large temperature swings. Yes, scientists have taken the earth's core into account... these are very smart people who have spent their lives studying the environment and the planet. And statistically ALL OF THEM agree that we are contributing to climate change.

really? "global warming" does, by definition, mean "everything [global] is getting hotter [warming]". are you sure they aren't changing the definition to fit the situation now that their temperature measurements didn't line up?

and these "very smart people", are they the same "very smart people" that pulled the "CFC" scam in the 90's? remember everyone had to run out and trade in their refrigerator or the world was going to end. whatever happened to that one? kinda makes you wonder what's coming next....

it's all a power grab. if they wanted to regulate emissions they'd regulate semi-trucks. they don't. that would have a devastating impact on the economy and they know it, so instead they'll just make sure every little kid's 50cc dirt bike has a government-approved sticker on the side.

it's called "hippy feel good legislation". it's sole purpose is to get democrats re-elected and increase the scope of authority of the federal gov't. it has nothing to do with "saving the planet", at least not any more than it did in the 70's, 80s, 90's, hell every decade they just rinse and repeat.

i'm calling it now: the 2020's will be the decade of "bandwidth misallocation". quick! let the gov't regulate your internet or the whole woooorrrlllldddd wiiilllll bbbuuuuurrrrnnnnnnn,
