I have a hard enough time getting people to acknowledge well publicized facts on the hypocrisy of US foreign policy, like blowback,how we funded OBL, wikileaks that show how we were intentionally lied to about WMD's in Iraq. I think if I brought up the USS Liberty, people would stone me for anti-semitism. Its not PC to criticize Israel, even if they openly sink one of our ships, making repeated passes to machine gun down drowning sailors.

Not direct funding. We and OBL had the same allies, and it was those allies that funded. It's very possible OBL got aid from people we did fund.

It's absolutely incredible. These people will express their concerns over Ahmedinejad's apocalyptic beliefs in a 12th imam, and then will actually say in the same sentence, "we can't turn our backs on Israel because we're living in the end times and god will turn his back on us if we do."

Is anyone else here overwhelmed by the irony of the previous sentence? How can people be so oblivious to the ridiculous nature of their own beliefs?

A lot of people who share those beliefs post on this forum, so kindly don't attack groups like that. It IS ironic, as people who have their own religious beliefs should respect the religious beliefs of others, but to then demean all people who believe in religion as having ridiculous beliefs is not OK.
